Spread those wings and soar to Eagle Lane, where the team behind dive bar Brooklyn Standard is opening Fat Angel, an American-themed sports bar set to pair NFL and hockey with wings, popcorn shrimp, and more. The heritage digs at 171 George Street are set for a spruce up come May, with the sizzling Donna Chang peking its head from the shadows. Sprawled over two floors, modern Chinese fare are about to roll out on a grand scale, with room for over 400 guests across the two-level dining room and basement bar, Boom Boom Room, launching beneath. Come March, the team are unveiling their newest project: a Lucky Egg location in Brunswick Street Mall, and the neighbouring Blute’s Bar. Set to whisk you back to the ‘80s in classic pub style, Blute’s Bar will take on Brisbane’s newest live gig role, boasting 14 taps and chicken and waffle brunch plates. Cluck, yeah!
