Word on the Street: Foodie News

New week, new openings, same lack of self control.

Brace your wallets Brisbane, because you’re going to want ALL the extra guac in this good news burrito. From luxe cafés to rooftop bars and frozen margaritas, something to satisfy every craving is on its way.

Two’s a tasty party. Tapworks Bar & Grill owner, Glenn Vos, will open a second Tapworks at Westfield Coomera mid-November! In addition to this blessing, Vos’ newborn, Crafty Fox Alehouse & Kitchen, is set to open in Stones Corner later this month, focussing on craft beer, cocktails, and v. crafty eats.

A Sydneysider is heading our way! The luxe Devon Café will set up shop at Garden City mid-November, bringing bougie boi offerings with it. Think Japanese-style sandwiches and gourmet French toast with wild strawberry ice cream, ricotta, strawberry curd, and gold leaf. Money please!

King Street is acquiring a mexcellent addition. Prepare to welcome El Camino Cantina early December, with all the tacos and frozen margaritas you can handle. You can’t spell frozen margarita without zen.

The name’s Banks, George Banks. The opening of Toowomba’s new rooftop bar has been pushed back to early November (tell him his hair looks sexy pushed back). Guess good things come to those who wait.

Less whining, more wining. Young Gun of Wine: Uncut is ready to make it rain at Brisbane Powerhouse on October 27 over a three-hour session of wine tastings, Bar Alto Italian eats, and a Riedel crystal wineglass to take home. Get tickets here.
