Eat up, Brissie.

As we hurtle towards the end of the year, Brisbane’s foodie scene is heating up as much as the weather!

We’re considering 2020 the Year of the Distillery, with Warehouse 25 bringing a gin and vodka set up alongside a bar and restaurant to Milton this weekend! Taking over a former warehouse space, the spirits made in house will be sold as Calm Spirits Co., with featured ingredients including lavender, lemon and rose. A range of spaces including an outdoor courtyard provide perfect positions to park with snacks like arancini and pizzas with a beer, wine, our cocktail featuring a house-made spirit. Nice.

Tasty precinct Fish Lane is getting even more delicious with the announcement of three hot new spots for its new Town Square; Julius Pizzeria is opening a swanky new spritz bar christened Bar Brutus, and the team behind Rick Shores and Little Valley is bringing cafe-cum-banh mi spot-cum-bar Kiki and pan-Asian restaurant Southside. Stay tuned for firm dates and our picks!

West Village is launching a sweet pop-up on November 13, including the chance to win a year’s worth of gelato from La Macelleria! Daydreams and Ice Cream will see a vibrant installation of 12 dessert-themed Insta moments land on West Village’s lawn, as well as ice cream vendor pop-ups and live music on weekends. Head here to learn how you can win and when to visit!

Botero House has revealed that their incredible Silk Road degustations will continue through November. With nine courses inspired by the ingredients and cultures of the ancient trade routes, the degustations run fortnightly and are extremely limited. Learn more and plan your visit here.

After laying dormant for years, the site of West End’s Hi-Fi music venue has a successor, with Korean eatery FryDays taking over the space! Set to serve up the likes of deep-fried, chicken, seafood and more, the spit will have a solid drinks list featuring imported and local craft beers as well as soju, sake, wine and cocktails.

It’s going to be a spicy end to the year, pals!
