New season, same us (hungry for foodie news, and justice).

With spring about to set fire to our stone cold lives, here’s everything you need to kickstart plans for the social season.



Love cheese? Then you better be saying yes please to Le Fromage Yard. This market going cheese monger has finally secured a permanent location in Morningside, meaning that your next fix of Australian and boutique cheeses, as well as cured meats, sweet garlic and more, is damn well easy peasy.   

By the beard of Zeus, Greca will be gracing upcoming riverside instalment Howard Smith Wharves late November. The restaurant will showcase modern Greek eats such as slow roasted lamb shoulder, saganaki and taramasalata, alongside unique dining experiences. Think waiters walking around with baskets of fish for your choosing. Fresh.

Stanley will also plant its roots at Howard Smith Wharves. The 180-seater will serve Hong Kong cuisine, and aren’t giving away much more than that! No worries Stan, we love a mysterious man.

Bacchus it up because Spring Quintessential High Tea has sprung. Brisbane’s home of elegant dining is bringing the likes of black brioche with chicken and celery sandwiches and key lime, chocolate and meringue tartlets to the high tea scene. Bacchus is also teaming up with Chandon, Moët and more to add a boozy little twist to this classic tradition!

After bringing lavish laneway eats and bar to West End in June, Laneway WV have announced plans for a whole new dining precinct! Coming October 2018, The Garden Pantry is set to be a contemporary food paradise in the heart of West End, where you’ll be able to hit up three of Brisbane’s favourite restaurants: Salt Meats CheeseCheeky Poke Bar and Mr. Bunz. Yes, there will be cheese wheel pasta!


Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is about to blossom for another year! From September 21 to 30, you can expect a festival of food and wine, a gala dinner, a night garden, and so much more. Perfect excuse for a weekend escape? Fleur sure!

And guess who’s back, back again? Society Rooftop Spring Series is back, and you’ll want to tell a friend (or three). For four weekends starting from September 1, Brisbane Racing Club will be hosting THE rooftop soiree of the year. Their famous cocktails, including Unicorn Punch Bowl and Flossy Flossy, will also return to blow your mind, and blow up your Instagram.
