With Halloween just around the corner, it’s no wonder this week’s foodie wrap-up is full of boos, booze, and some bloody good openings too.

These Brisbane foodie updates are all delight and no fright!

Coming to Monday nights at Balfour Restaurant is an irresistible build-your-own-bao, bowls, and BYO deal. Guests can sidle into the restaurant from 5:30pm onwards to craft a bao to their liking and devour it alongside a steaming bowl of Vietnamese curry before finishing with a sumptuous ice cream dessert. Bao wow wow.

Next off the chopping block this week is Stanley. This Cantonese-inspired restaurant promises to bring authentic eats to the streets of Brisbane under the expert guidance of head chef Louis Tikaram! Prepare to enjoy the freshest seafood, amazing Peking duck and dim sum when it opens this Friday on Howard Smith Wharves.

Also making foodie waves is The Garner, a new Asian-fusion restaurant we suggest you take a gander at when they open on West End’s Browning street next week! Operated by the same peeps behind Street Lab Specialty Coffee, The Garner is set to stun with phenomenal coffee in the morning followed by tasty katsu sandos, congee, and more at night.

Dynamo restaurateur Simon Barakat is the one to thank for bringing to life your next favourite Lebanese bistro, Ehden Bar & Kitchen! A sneak peek at Ehden’s a la carte menu reveals delectable treats like charred chermoula-spiced prawns and za’atar grilled eggplant that we can’t wait to try when they open in early November.

Also filling our bellies with Mediterranean cuisine is Mica, which is set to open in Newstead’s Mercedes Benz lifestyle precinct in January 2020. Joining Mica in the precinct will be artisanal wholesale bakery The Kneadery, and you can expect from both only the finest eats! After all, their owner, the renowned chef and restaurateur Shannon Kellam of Montrachet fame, is known to only serve up the best!

Meanwhile in the CBD, news has just dropped that coffee giant Starbucks is preparing to build their biggest store in the Southern Hemisphere smack bang in the middle of Brisbane’s Edward street. Expect 300sqm of frappuccinos and Vsco girls when it opens in March, 2020.

Last, but far from least is the boos-iest launch on this list! Celebrated Scottish craft beermaker BrewDog is officially opening their highly anticipated TapRoom in Murrarie within the fortnight! The industrial-style venue will boast 28 taps showcasing famed brews, such as BrewDog’s delicious Punk IPA, alongside local ales supplied by Currumbin Valley, Black Hops, and Range Brewing.
