Okay, but why has October flown past in the blink of an eye? Spooky stuff.

This week is full of comings and goings on the Brisbane food scene, and we’ll make sure you don’t miss a beat!

James Street has a smoking hot new eatery open today, inspired by the tastes and sights of the concrete jungle where dreams are made of. Beaux Rumble is now open, taking unique ingredients, adding wood, smoke and fire and delivering proper taste sensations. Classy, innovative and imaginative, Beaux Rumble is waiting for you. 

Did somebody say wine? At Mr and Mrs Jones has been teasing us for too long, and it’s made us thirsty! This brand new, relaxed-yet-classy wine bar is set to open in Hamilton this week. We’re talking moody underground vibes with extravagant lighting to match, delicious eats and every wine under the sun. 

The Valley has yet another exciting venue opening up, this time in the form of a sophisticated cocktail, live music and tapas speakeasy called Shhh! The plush booth seating and chesterfield armchairs are the perfect place to get cosy as you dig into small share plates, charcuterie boards and cheese platters, while sipping on gin, cocktails, or whatever your poison may be. Shhh! is also opening this Friday, so you’ve got a busy weekend ahead!

Now for something a little bit ~juicy~. A little birdy (or fishy) has told us there is something exciting coming to Kangaroo Point’s One Fish Two Fish this November. This means the end of Fish and Bottomless Sips Sundays, so why not send it out with a bang? Book your spot here, and watch this space for a spritz of exciting news coming soon!

Plant-based eaters, this one’s for you. Lord of the Fries has announced it will be opening its first Brisbane location, and it’s about time! We’ve loved from afar for too long. They’ll be arriving in Fortitude Valley before the end of the year, so get ready to sink your teeth into some vegan hotdogs, burgers, mac’n’cheese balls and, well, bucket-loads of fries.

Brisbane, meet Meek Social House. This casual-cool eatery is opening Friday and ready to bring beachy vibes to Woolloongabba, dishing up classic, great value eats and keeping the good times (and drinks) coming all night long. Serving all our favs, from steak to seafood to desserts to all-you-can-eat bao nights, this is one spot we can’t wait to hit up.
