It might only be September, but summer lovin’ is in full swing with a new host of new gorgeous eats on the horizon. 


You’ll only need to remember four funky letters this month as a fresh new eatery is set to make serious waves at the vibrant Howard Smith Wharves precinct this November – say hello to Yoko! As the next feather in the cap of the talented restaurateur Jonathan Barthelmess (the mastermind behind Brisbane’s famed Greca restaurant and Sydney’s Apollo), Yoko will embody an izakaya-style eatery with a fresh, fun take on Japanese fare. Tasty bites will be aplenty, with the extensive menu boasting a raw section of sustainable seafood and a dedicated hibachi charcoal grill. Set to open mid-November, don’t forget to add Yoko to your 2019 to-do list. 

Just when we thought they couldn’t get any tastier, Toombul’s fab foodie and entertainment precinct has just announced another incredible dining venue joining their lineup, ready to fill our hungry, hungry hearts. Be a smartling and head into Little Red Dumpling when it opens up its seventh store later this month; expect fan-favourite delights including their famous colourful rainbow dumplings and tender braised beef and rice. Manners be damned, these little bundles of joy are just too damn good not to scoff! 

Get set to hit the Old Town Road to head out to the wild, wild west as West Village brings a savvy, sustainable cafe to their already tasty scene. Hailing from the riverside of Teneriffe, Barko and Co will be opening up a sister venue in the green oasis of South Brisbane, bringing along healthy fan-favourites delights. With local craft beers and organic wines on offer, let the dogs out and head in when they open later this month. 


It’s never too early to get your stein on – go fully Bav with a bev with six weeks of Oktoberfest celebrations kicking off this Saturday at all Munich Brauhaus and The Bavarian locations across Australia! Slip-on your lederhosen for a celebration lager than ever, complete with oodles of German bites, exclusive biers and brouhaha! For the love of bier, don’t miss out! 

Time to shake what yo’ mamma gave ya – the Treasury Brisbane Arcadia will come alive every weekend this month as Archie Rose runs FREE cocktail classes in the Voodoo Bar! Available every Saturday from 4-7pm as part of Brisbane Festival, get your shake on and learn to how to make a range of tasty spritzes. The best bit? You’ll be able to taste each creation at the end of every session. We’ll cheers to that!
