Brisbane Festival is fast approaching, and (as usual) Treasury Brisbane is ready to celebrate with a range of specials including a free weekly knock-off party in Queen’s Park featuring $5 Furphys, and an on-brand cocktail at the Fat Noodle pop-up bar! The Pink Halo cocktail is a refreshing blend of Gordon’s pink gin, passionfruit and almond syrup, lime juice, and fresh mint, available for $15 for the duration of Brisbane Festival!
Movin’ on up, movin’ on up, it’s the new UPSTAIRS precinct at Toombul shopping centre! Alongside the already-announced Dapple + Waver (a fresh-faced bar/restaurant) and Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq (a circus-themed arcade bar), UPSTAIRS has added Niku Ramen to the list. Diners can expect rich ramen, rice bowls and noodles on the menu, as well as snacking faves like gyoza, edamame, karaage, and deep-fried tofu. Niku joins the list of Toombul’s ten new restaurants, entertainment and lifestyle retailers, a music and arts program, and a refurbished cinema launching at the end of 2019.
From ramen to bar-men, burger and beer purveyors Fritzenberger has today announced it’s launching a third location in Albany Creek! Opening on Saturday, September 14, the 150-seater will stock eight of the house beers on tap as well as the full menu of frites ‘n’ burgers. To celebrate the launch, one lucky visitor will win a year’s supply of burgers by simply downloading the Fritzenberger app, visiting the new Albany Creek store, and placing an order before September 30.
We’ve been cracking on about it since we first heard whispers months ago, but Morning After’s baby sister, Yolk, is set to open officially at Gasworks on Friday, September 6! Grab a slice of the golden goodness for free at their launch celebration from 10 am to 1 pm.
Looking to tea up a sweet day out? The Laneway Tea Festival has been announced as the latest in Bakery Lane’s suite of boutique festivals and events, and it’s going down like oolong on Saturday, October 5 from 10 am to 4pm. Organised by Bakery Lane tea shop/retailer Botanical Lab, the fest will feature a range of tea brands as well as tastings, brewing and blending masterclasses, and even a bubble tea-drinking competition. Matcha waiting for?
We’ve been loving Gerard’s Bistro more than ever since the arrival of Adam Wolfers as head chef, so there’s something fishy about tickets still being available to his collab dinner with the renowned Josh Niland of Sydney’s Saint Peter! In celebration of the release of Niland’s newly released The Whole Fish Cookbook, guests to the dinner on Thursday, September 19 can expect a ten-course dego featuring Wolfers’ unique veggie treatments and (of course) Niland’s unrivalled, boundary-pushing techniques with fish.
