If we’re not eating, you can guarantee that we’re thinking about food (and sometimes dogs).
In the spirit of daydreaming about your next meal, why not overload your thought pattern with visions of a venue where tea is literally in everything on the menu, a rooftop party with free Pimm’s and tasting platters, and Brisbane’s annual noodle markets that make us weaker than a spicy cooked nood.

If your memory is on par with beloved animated fish Dory (same), you might have forgotten about talk of FudoDori (found here in a February edition of WOTS). Although it’s taken a little longer than expected to come to fruition, we’re here to spill the tea on FudoDori’s opening date and namedrop another exciting addition to the space! Mark May 22 in your calendars and tell Siri you’re finally motivated enough to leave the house – Lucha is FudoDori’s first-of-its-kind kitchen and bar that’s fuelled by tea. Think bubble tea, tea cocktails, oolong roasted pork belly, and roast chook with jasmine tea sauce. That, plus the other ten venues we mentioned in the article you didn’t click through to (rude), will bring new life to Elizabeth Arcade, and we couldn’t be hungrier.
Today’s the daaay! QueensPlaza has officially welcomed Stanton Café & Bar into its midst; a 180-seater serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Grab a cocktail and head for the outdoor terrace overlooking Queen St Mall, or warm up inside with a round of crab souffle. The real kicker for our breakfast snobs is Stanton’s on-site bakery, letting you rest easy knowing that the sourdough supporting your sweet Hass is on point.
Woolloongabba’s C’est Bon is moving up! The budding bistro will launch a rooftop bar next month, focussing on light and healthy French eats and drinks. Winter bod? Not today, French Satan.
We’ve now teased you with Pipit twice (sorry, we swear this is the last time)! The dang joint finally opened (quietly) last week in Pottsville, and has happily been slinging this season’s selection of 12 a la carte dishes to locals, with an abundance of Autralian and international wines to match. Geddit.
The Gold Coast is back at it again with a mini precinct opening this August! Three venues will piece the precinct together – the sister venue of Noosa’s renowned Miss Moneypenny’s, American-style Fat Freddy’s Beach Bar & Diner, and private dining space The Rimini Room. We’ll keep you posted on a solid opening date when we hear about it!
There’s nothing quite like a good round of noods. That’s right, Brisbane, Good Food Month’s Night Noodle Markets is making its way back to South Bank from July 24-August 4! Your favourite annual Asian-style eats will be cooked up by the likes of Hoy Pinoy, Bao Brothers, What the Pho, Shallot Thai and so many more. Keep a keen eye out menu releases and start planning your point of asnack.
Toombul’s end-of-year project, UPSTAIRS, has added another restaurant and bar to the mix. Dapple + Waver is the brainchild of the team behind Coorparoo’s Beyond the Pale, and is set to serve pizza, steaks and pork belly bao amongst other fan favourites. Ahead of the opening in November, Dapple + Waver will pop up at Toombul’s rooftop party on May 17. In celebration of Brisbane Street Art Festival, the rooftop sesh will sport drinks, live art murals, and entertainment, with guests receiving a complimentary Pimm’s Cup or Dapple + Waver Session Ale on arrival alongside a tasting platter. Fine wining by the dozen will be the go at ARC on June 19. Hosted by Henschke to celebrate the launch of their revered single-vineyard wines, twelve new release drops will be paired with courses created by chef Alana Sapwell in an extremely exclusive (and not-to-be-missed) affair.
