Word on The Street: Foodie News

Why do all good things come to an end? To make way for bigger and better things!

This week’s good food news is ready to break the internet, with word of a new vegan ramen bar, cheese store, and more. Plus, if the internet breaks, we get to go home.

Moda Tapas Brasa Bar is on the move! Tearing in to a new spot at The Barracks, Moda is embracing their ‘everything made in house’ philosophy across an extensive tapas, entremeses and rotisserie menu. Never fear, your fave Javier’s Table rustic degustation is still here! The new bar will combine a healthy balance of old favourites and new hits, and is set to open within the next few weeks. Stay alert for the finer details!

It’s time to fly, The Coop Bistro. If you need your final fix of tacos, parmys and all you can eat nuggets, get in before October 20 – because The Coop is closing to make way for plant-based phenomenon, I Like Ramen. This wholeheartedly vegan takeover will mean top-notch ramen (thanks captain obvious), po’boys, curries and more. You DO win friends with ramen.

Salt Meats Cheese, meet Cheese Fattoria. The famous Italian foodie fam is importing a machine from the motherland itself, which will be used to produce fresh cheese in the brand new West End location. Being dubbed Cheese Fattoria, the likes of nodini, treccia, truffle burrata, scamorza, pecorino, provolone and buffalo mozzarella will be udderly fresh from the kitchen, with the option to make your own at Salt Meats Cheese’s new cooking school!

Screaming for more La Macelleria Gelateria? You’re in luck, since a third store is bound for Coorparoo Square! Opening October 25, your sweetest dreams are made of this.

King Street is absolutely popping with new venues, and we’re looking forward to the rise of Atelier Brasserie! The warm, European bistro owned by hospitality mogul Charlotte Barakat is set to open early next week. Pass the pasta!

Guess who’s back, back again? Good Food & Wine Show is returning to Brisbane from October 26-28, meaning dining pop-ups, drinks labs, cheese alleys and more. Brace your waistline for three days of indulgence!
