Brisbane is stripping down and stocking up on some classic hits. If you’re fangin’ for a Halloween party, tossin’ mad for pasta restaurants, and can’t turn down cinemas under the stars, read on.


Yas queen – a new wine bar is making its way to King Street! We can’t spill the tea on the finer details just yet, but keep an eye out (and a wine glass at the ready) for this exciting development.

Hop on the highway to Hellenika’s second restaurant – you’re in for a wild ride. With numero two opening at James Street’s The Calile Hotel early next month, Brisbane will be blessed with the classic Greek food and wine that the Gold Coast has been banging on about. Hell. Yes!

Pass the pasta laboratory – Ripiena is setting its sights on Fortitude Valley. Set to open mid-October, Anita Schenk and Nicolo’ Campagnari’s pasta lab will create a unique and relaxed place to both watch the pasta-making process and reap its provisions, with take-home options aplenty. Honey, we’re home.

The Catbird Seat Bistro is closing on September 30. Putting the cat back in the bag, owners James Guldberg and Erinn Jordan have sold their beloved restaurant, which will be turned into a modern Australian-Korean eatery. September 29 will be your last chance to grab your favourite Catbird dish and drink, so make sure you don’t miss out.



Where’s the popcorn? The American Express Openair Cinemas will flock back to South Bank from October 4 to November 11 with a bundle of old and new flicks to enjoy under the stars. Pull up a bean bag, whip out the snacks, and kick back in the great outdoors.

A very cheeky circus is setting up camp under the Spiegel Big Top at Victoria Park from October 12 to November 18. Infamous is an adults-only circus cabaret that will tickle your fancy and strike a chord with your senses. Is it hot in here, or is it just us?

Ghouls just wanna have fun. Victoria Park’s Halloween Monster’s Ball will be creeping into your DM’s on October 31, featuring everything from blood Bellinis to haunted photo booths and DJ Emma Lancaster. Claw into tickets here.
