EATING OUT
Get ready to roost at The Coop Bistro on Thursdays with their new $3 Taco night launching January 18th, BUENO BUENO. The $3 menu includes seven delicious taco varieties available between 5-10pm every Thursday, as well as Dos Equis beers, Tommy’s Margarita, tequila and sangria. New year, new you? If you’ve been bitten by the plant-based bug there’s a new kid in town ready to feed your appetite for change. Located in the former Pablo location (RIP), Dicki’s is set to open mid-to-late January and will feature plant-based versions of café classics that will sway even the most hard-core carnivore. The Sunshine Coast is proving it can share, with Noosaville’s Bordertown moving south to Post Office Square in late January. The Southern American-style menu will feature their famous burgers including the Harley James Special with double beef, double cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce and mustard. Not content with cornering the pub, beer and Vietnamese market in South Bank – the Mantle Group will be opening Cantonese-style eatery Tai Tai in March. Work on the new Mermaid Waters lifestyle precinct ‘The Lanes’ is set to commence early this year. The $200 million development will feature around 80 new venues including cafes, restaurants and a European-style market fresh-food hall, as well as a cinema and health and well-being services. It is expected to be completed in 2021.
