Where to celebrate New Year's Eve 2020/21 in Brisbane

New Year's Eve Brisbane

New Year's Eve: Thursday, December 31, 2020

Running rings around the city looking for where to farewell the disaster that is 2020? Save yourself the exercise, foodies—The G&G has you covered! With all the champagne, cocktails, and canapés you could ever need, we’ve rounded up all the best venues where you can yell, “new year, new me!” with a snack in hand this December 31.

The night will be a celebration of seafood with a four-hour food and beverage package at this Seafood Disco featuring some fishy favourites and a few gourmet treats…

Freshly shucked oysters and prawn cocktails will kick things off, with flavourful bites like salmon mousse tarts, lobster vol-au-vents and lemon pepper fast-fried calamari. You’ll be treated to a disco spritz on arrival, before a drinks package featuring more prosecco, wine, and beer than you can poke a fish at! Seafood Disco at One Fish Two Fish will run from 8 pm till midnight, with tickets available for $195pp, with tickets available here.

Jade Buddha has long been a riverfront favourite, not only for its stunning views and mind-blowing cocktails, but for its fusion of cultures and delicious eats…

Giving this year the boot in frivolous fashion, Jade Buddha’s F%#K2020 New Year’s Eve party is just what we all need. There’s two packages on offer (one with spirits and one without), and everyone will score prime river views, plenty of booze and Jade Buddha’s signature eats, and the first 100 guests through the door will even receive a cheeky sweet treat, courtesy of Little Sprinkle Co. Need another reason to get in early? It’s free entry to the Jade Buddha level before 9 pm!

Stay tuned to their Facebook event for more info and how to nab a spot!

It’s set to be a sparkly finish to 2020 at Victoria Park’s NYE Glitter Gala! Get glamorous in your best cocktail attire and prepare for an evening of fanfare, food, fireworks, and cocktails!

Your ticket includes a five-hour beverage package (heart eyes!) with cocktails like watermelon margaritas with pink shimmer dust alongside sparkling wine, reds, whites, and beers. Enjoy canapés like baked pork belly and Calvados pies, and chicken and chive dumplings with wasabi mayo, before more substantial bites like charred chicken sliders with spicy mayo and pineapple chutney, and a summery prawn cocktail.

Throw in dazzling entertainment, a live DJ, private fireworks and a handful of glitter, and you’ve got yourself a party that can’t be missed! The event will run from 7:30 pm to 12:30 am, with tickets available for $149pp. This one will sell out in no time, so grab your tickets here.

  • Covent Garden

West End’s Covent Garden is joining forces with Four Pillars for New Year’s Eve 2020/2021, bringing back their sell-out All You Can Gin event!

Be treated to a four-course banquet served alongside a three-hour All You Can Gin beverage package courtesy of Four Pillars, featuring five of their best and brightest creations including this year’s editions of Christmas and Bloody Shiraz gins, plus a selection of wines, beers and ciders. As for the eats, Covent Garden’s gluten-free kitchen will be whipping up four courses of gin-inspired bites, carefully devised to match the sipping selection. Tickets to the event are $119pp, with a minimum party of four guests–head here to book!

The kitchen will be offering a concise menu of plates should you wish to feast, while roving canapés and two substantial plates included in the package will fuel the night of dancing, with DJ Jamie Lee Fox on the decks all night! The gastronomic adventure starts at the famed buffet, where chefs will serve all your celebratory favourites straight to your plate, while you enjoy two and a half hours of free-flowing French sparkling, beers, and wines.

Live music will be played all evening long, as you soak up the last moments of the year with loved ones. Sofitel Brisbane Central’s New Year’s Eve experience is $164pp for adults (dinner and drinks included) or $82pp and $110pp for children and teenagers respectively. Head here to book a table!

It’s white-on-white-on-white at the Regatta this year, as they host the ultimate boat party experience! Paying homage to life in the Mediterranean, the experience will be a stylish end to 2020, with San Sebastian and Cafe Del Mar vibes and an all-white dress code.

From 8 pm till midnight, enjoy a four-hour beverage package loaded with your favourite sips (there will be sangria!), alongside delicious food stations and canapés including a seafood shack and Mediterranean kitchen. Sing in the new year with live entertainment and DJs across three levels of the hotel, and enjoy some of the city’s best firework displays on the river.
