Count your lucky charms Brisbane, because St Patrick’s Day is swigging back with a series of cracking parties, markets, feasts and of course, gallons of Guinness.
Here’s everywhere worth celebrating this St Patrick’s Day (March 17 2019 for the people in the back, and for those still signing off with 2018. Get it together bud.)
Paddyfest is rolling up for its second year with a few more tricks up its bright green sleeve. Come Saturday March 16, you’ll be able to get a very real taste of Ireland with a day of good beer and great craic, with everything from huge headline act Kingswood to authentic Irish eats from Diddly Dee Food Truck to pop-up bars and four new entertainment zones. Brunswick Street Mall is going to be bursting with colour (predominantly green) all day on March 17! Hosted by Finn McCool’s, an epic St Patrick’s Day festival will celebrate all things Irish thanks to a helping hand from food stalls, pop-up bars (including a vintage truck with taps of your fave beers) and plenty of entertainment and giveaways. Brace yourself.
30, flirty and thriving. Brisbane’s 30th consecutive St Patrick’s Day Parade will come marching in on from 10am on the 16th, painting the town green alongside markets and other special surprises. Keep an eye out for more detailed announcements here.
Have yourself a merry little ditty on March 17. From 12pm-4pm, street performers, Irish-themed entertainment and activities plus exclusive meal deals and offers will flock to Little Stanley Street to create a lean, green, celebratory machine. See specific entertainment details here.
Fiddle-dee-dee, that will require a Jameson shot. Osbourne Hotel’s free St Patty’s Day party will make you scream and stout from 10am ’til late on March 17. Expect a day full of $10 pizza deals, Guinness-inspired food specials, live music and Jameson giveaways!
If you’d rather celebrate sitting down, Pullman Hotel will be throwing a St Patrick’s Eve Dinner from 6:30pm on March 14. Join the Governor and Premier of Queensland to continue a tradition of more than 120 years by indulging in a three-course meal. Expect Guinness, wine, entertainment, guest speakers and Irish camaraderie in one unique St Patrick’s Day event. Tickets are $150pp, which you can secure here.
Why not make a weekend out of it? RG’s St Patrick’s weekend will be kicking on from March 16 and 17, with prizes, Irish-inspired food, live music, Jameson on tap, and a cheeky little leprechaun toss (when leprechauns are mad, do they see red or green?)
