Where to Catch all the Grand Final Glory

With grand final fever approaching, no matter your code it’s time to strap on your boots, fill up your glass and gather the lads.

If you can’t get to the game the next best thing is to celebrate with your mates over a beer and a cheeky pub meal, so where are you going to witness glory from this year?

The legendary Caxton Hotel car park will be transformed into the ultimate playground for the NRL grand final. Sit and enjoy a Bundy Lazy Bear or a Mountain Goat beer with your trucker chips and burger from Mr Burger food truck as you watch the boys bring the glory on the big screen . With half time commentary by Luttzy, prizes to be won and the team from YP Threads to help you look as crisp as a craft beer, the Caxton Hotel is in a league of its own. AFL fans – fret not, the Caxton hasn’t forgotten you. The game will be on the screen Saturday, so grab a beer and one of their famous parmys and settle in for the afternoon.

With the both grand finals live and loud on all screens across four bars – you won’t be left pining at the Pineapple Hotel. Embracing the spirit of the long weekend, the Gabba’s favourite sports bar is going all our with a three day celebration – it’s going to be the party of the year! Full of footy, beer and bloody good times – if you don’t already have plans for the long weekend you do now. Kick off Saturday with the AFL grand final in the Lounge or Park bar with food and drink specials, and the final on the screens. Kick on into night with Kane Cahill live in the Park bar from 8.30pm – just don’t party too hard, you’re going to want to back it up Sunday as the NRL grand finals commence. With more specials, coverage on all the screens and live music in the Helsby Ale House – Piney is proving it’s across all the codes.

Don’t miss a minute of either Grand Final at The Fox! With both live and loud in the Long Bar, enjoy entertainment, great food and drinks in one of Brisbane’s favourite venues. The party doesn’t end with the trophy! Slide into the night at Sunday at Dandy’s Rooftop – after all, Monday’s a public holiday!

A big game like the NRL Grand Final calls for a big after party, and they don’t come much bigger than Treasury’s LiveWire.  For non-stop excitement and around-the-clock entertainment, look no further. With post-match sets from headline acts including Brooke Evers (back from residences in Las Vegans, Miami and Los Angeles) and multi-platinum artists BOMBS AWAY – no matter what the full time score, you’ll remember it as one of the best Grand Final nights ever.

It wouldn’t be the Grand Final without a trip to the Normanby Hotel. With a massive beer garden and Brisbane’s favourite Sunday Session – it’s a no brainer. Enjoy one of their $8.95 chicken schnitzels and a cold beer, with live bands and all the action on the big screen.

Not satisfied with your usual pub fare? Turn to the grand dame of the valley – Waterloo Hotel. Try melt in your mouth 12hr slow braised beef brisket with charred corn and chipotle BBQ or mouth-watering twice cooked pork belly with gingered greens and steamed jasmine rice. Don’t get us wrong, we love a t-bone or a cheeky schnitty- but this is next level! Check out the game on the big screens and settle in with a beer for the afternoon.

No matter the code, no matter the team – you might forget the final score, but you’ll never forget where you were this Grand Final weekend.
