Thursday 8 One weekend just isn’t enough time to celebrate Oktoberfest at Bavarian Bier Cafe so they’re putting on Oktoberfest Bier Flights all month long! Sample 3 Oktoberfest-exclusive Biers for $15, matched with Bavarian’s signature pretzels and pork knuckle of course! Friday 9 Looking for an excuse to head out for Friday afternoon work drinks close to home? Saturday 10 You shouldn’t need a reason to venture out to Brisbane Airport’s DFO to visit the Lindt Chocolate Shop but we’re about to give you one anyway. For one day only, the newly opened Lindt Store are having a 30% off sale on all their chocolatey goods. Yep, that means all their deliciously creamy chocolate balls, bars and pralines, all 30% off. With Christmas season fast approaching, there’s no better reason than to stop in store to stock up some goodies for your friends and family, and of course, yourself. Sunday 11 Dust off your lederhosen for the first weekend of Oktoberfest at the Brisbane Showgrounds, thee largest Oktoberfest celebration in Australia and one of the world’s top 10 outside of Germany! You’d never know you weren’t in Germany as the Showgrounds are transformed into a quaint German village, complete with a biergarten and plenty of German beers, pretzels and even yodelling. Tickets range from $17-25 and can be found here. Monday 12 Put your stretchy pants on and take your hungry self to Newstead for Gianni’s authentic Italian pizza – a lot of it! With five delicious flavours of all-you-can-eat pizza to stuff your face with every Monday night, no one will blame you for making it a weekly tradition. And for $20 per person, why wouldn’t you? Tuesday 13 Damn right, these milkshakes are better than yours. Just in time to power up your Christmas shopping, the Lindt Shop at DFO is launching their appropriately named Excellence milkshakes. Blended with milk, Lindt ice cream and Lindt Excellence chocolate, there’s a little bit of luxury in every cup. With six different flavours to try, including Arabica intense, white chocolate and coconut, raspberry intense, sea salt caramel and extra silky white chocolate, there’s never been a better excuse to go shopping. Wednesday 14 Who says clean eating means spending weekends on meal prep? Starting with a healthy (and budget friendly) shopping list, the Wholesomeness team will demonstrate how to create nutritious meals to get you through the week in their cooking classes. With healthy smoothies, functional food snacks and quick and delicious dinners guaranteed to give you more energy but not take up all your time and money, you’ll be feeling more wholesome in no time. Thursday 15 Named one of the top five wineries in the world, Peregrine Wines is coming to Lutece Bistro for an evening of indulgence. Friday 16 Always wished there was a Brisbane bar with beachside views where you could relax with an ice cold beer and tuck into some seriously good gastropub fare? Wish no longer, because the Southbank Beer Garden has arrived, bringing all of the above and more to the South Bank parklands. Join them for a brew and plenty of bar bites to kick off beer thirty. Saturday 17 You’ll be able to whip up everyone’s favourite French pastries after a French pastry cooking masterclass with the Sofitel’s Chef de Cuisine, Joel Helot. You’ll learn how to whip up a chocolate mousse, decorate a cake and even get to tuck into the Sofitel’s iconic high tea for the $180 ticket price. Sunday 18 Food Truck Laneway Sundays take over the Stones Corner Hotel on the third Sunday of every month, filling the hotel’s outdoor laneways and carparks with outside seating, fairy lights, live music and plenty of food and booze. Some of Brisbane’s best food trucks will be coming along, including the likes of Bella BBQ, Fire’N’Dough, Gourmet H-Dogz and Vira Lata.
