Wednesday 1 Wednesday nights are sorted at Gerard’s Bar. Their weekly treat of housemade tonkatsu style ramen comes topped with porky deliciousness made from Gerard’s free-range, macadamia fed charcuterie pigs. Paired with some traditionally warm sake, it will bust that midweek slump! Thursday 2 We’ve found the cure for after work blues. First, line your stomach with fresh seafood like vanilla and vodka cured ocean trout or classic surf ‘n’ turf like salt and pepper calamari. Then you get stuck into imported and Australian beers (starting at just $5 a pop), lychee mojitos or a mug of hot and spicy mulled wine while you gaze at a picture perfect view from the South Bank Surf Club. Now that’s a Thursday afternoon. Friday 3 Fancy yourself a bit of a wino? Join your kind at the Brisbane Showgrounds and be amongst the first to try this seasons new vintages. Accompanied by grazing stations showcasing the award-winning cheese, lamb and beef from the 2015 Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show, the night will be full of drinking and dining. Saturday 4 Put down your cawfee, the Land of the Brave (Mighty Mighty) and Home of the Free (Buffalo Bar) are celebrating American Independence in true US of A style. After a $65 three course meal of Waldorf chicken salad, BBQ ribs and warm apple pie, you may want to roll yourself home. This Bardon joint has hit the nail on the head with their Brazilian BBQ, dishing up all the authentic meaty delights, traditional cassava chips and Pao de queigo (the famous Brazilian cheese bread!) you can eat. Let the meat sweats roll! Tuesday 7 It’s Tuesday night and you and your pals have serious hanger and nothing but loose change. Don’t fret, because the crew at Asian inspired street food joint, Heya Bar, have taken cheap Tuesday eats to the next level. We’re talking spicy chicken wings, karaage popcorn chicken and the infamous cheeseburger spring rolls, all for under 10 bucks! And if you’ve still got some dough left for one of Heya’s epic cocktails, we recommend the sinfully sweet Golden Gai Time, with Kraken spiced rum, almond, chocolate and cream for $12! Wednesday 8 Prepare to be pleasantly surprised by the fine-dining establishment that is Deer Duck Bistro. Situated on Milton Road in Auchenflower, this whimsical nook breaths comfort and sophistication, with a touch of antiquity. Their 7 course degustation menu will take you to a world of complete culinary pleasure. With each and every course taking you on a whirlwind journey, Deer Duck Bistro’s uniquely created degustation is love at first bite, and for a mere $77 per person from Tuesday to Friday, who wouldn’t want a taste of the finer things in life?
