What's New This Week
This week is an ode to the F word - namely food, festivals, five dollar burgers and flight club (anything else that popped into your head really isn’t our fault tbh).
Let this list guide you through the best F’s you’ll ever have.
Cheese and Champagne Pop-Up | Portside Wharf
Prepare to ignore your lactose intolerance yet again because the annual Portside Wharf Cheese and Champagne pop-up is back for 2018! Over two delicious days, March 10 and 11, you’ll be able to pull up a picnic blanket or sit in a v. special pop-up lounge and soak up all the glory of fine cheese and on par booze. Doesn’t get much feta than that.
Longest Dinner Under the Stars | Ascot
On March 10, pull up a seat at Ascot’s most exclusive table – the Ascot Green Longest Dinner Under the Stars. Set amongst the gorgeous, leafy, heritage-listed Eagle Farm Racecourse, enjoy a luxurious evening of culinary delights, live entertainment and spell-binding surprises: all under the beautiful Brisbane sky.
Super Combo | King Street, Bowen Hills
Wish burgers were as cheap as chips? On March 10, King Street’s own burger royalty, Super Combo, will be rolling out $5 Burgers in store to celebrate their first birthday. As a delicious thank you to everyone that’s helped keep their store up and kicking for the past year, the first 1000 people through the door from 11:30am on March 10 will get to wrap their hands around this super offering. What a knock out deal!
Cloudland | Fortitude Valley
So we’re breaking the first rule of flight club, but we HAVE to talk about it. Cloudland’s Cocktail Flight Club is a weekly Friday affair, where you can land four signature cocktails, roaming canapés and the sweet, sweet seating that is Cloudland’s opulent booths. Find out more here.
Hot Sauce and Chilli Festival | Bowen Hills
A super saucy weekend is hitting up Welcome to Bowen Hills. This March 10 and 11, put on your chilli boots and line your mouth with candle wax (please don’t, we just love The Simpsons here), because this weekend is going to be full of the hottest sauce and chilli eats in town. Sounds like a straight fire time.
Blackbird | Eagle Street Pier
Ready, (jet)set, go! Blackbird will be treating you to a Japanese escape right in their very own venue this March, and it will definitely fill that travel sized void in your wanderlust soul. Taking inspiration from the blooming cherry blossoms, enjoy an exclusive cocktail list every Friday from 4:30pm, including Chita Suntory Highballs, Masataka’s Boilermaker (Asahi & Nikka taket suru pure malt) and snack on Japanese oyster shooters and prawn and scallop dumplings. Hai!
E’cco | Newstead
The highly anticipated E’cco is set to re-open its doors on March 10 at its new location! You’ll get to experience eats from their Brazilian style wood and charcoal fired grill, such as whole local fish and dry-aged Darling Downs wagyu. Ah, yes thank you.
Smokey Moo | East Brisbane
Not checking out Smokey Moo would be a colossal misteak. Now open, you can dig your teeth into the best smoked meats in town, such as brisket, pastrami, beef cheeks and ribs, plus jus and fries. There are a couple of salads on offer as well, just in case the meat sweats get too real.
Fat Angel | Eagle Lane
The Brooklyn Standard team are back at it again with Fat Angel! This all American sports bar opens on March 9 for all your beers, bites and NFL/NHL needs. Phat.
Viscosity | Fortitude Valley
Oh girl, you’re glowing! Viscosity is the Valley’s funnest new cocktail bar, sporting glow in the dark cocktails, smoky cocktails, and other drinkable works of art! Fill up my cup.
Kenmore fave’s Single Guys have opened a new CBD store! From great coffee to food such as waffles with honeycomb, grilled banana and ice cream, your new CBD stopover never looked so good. Won’t be single for long if you keep treating us like that.
Dicki’s | New Farm
Vegan heaven is a place on earth with you. Dicki’s is full of plant based flavour sensations, including the likes of buckwheat waffles with caramelised banana and coconut vanilla bean ice cream, and crispy tofu bao. You won’t beleaf just how good this place is.
Chef’s Inc | Cleveland
Cleveland’s version of Eat Street is now large and in charge! This foodie Mecca is full of shipping containers dishing out the best street eats, from joints such as Salt Meats Cheese, and rotating food trucks to keep things nice and interesting. We fully ship this movement.
