What’s New This Week
So far, this month has been 10/10, and with the range of eats and events taking place this week, we’re excited to fully embrace October.
From fresh Italian to home-delivered booze, buckle up – you’re in for a wild ride.
Romantica Ristorante Pizzeria | Paddington
Eccellente! Paddington’s welcoming another pizzeria from the man behind La Pinsa, and boy, are we falling in love. With a range of white and red-base pizzas, Romantica Ristorante Pizzeria has stolen our hearts (and stomachs), but with dishes like pork belly with cauliflower purée, slow-cooked waygu oxtail ragu, and rhubarb tiramisu, can you blame us?
Finney Isles | Fortitude Valley
From the team behind two of Brisbane’s fave bars comes the newest addition to the Valley – Finney Isles! If you thought Cobbler and Savile Row were impressive, wait until you see these cutting-edge cocktails, inspired by famous works of art. Complete with an incredible array of boutique bevs including gins, whiskies, and biodynamic wines, there’s nothing Finney about these seriously good concoctions.
If you’ve ever found yourself running low on booze at a house shindig, we know your struggle – but fear no more, Jimmy’s here to save the day. This online delivery service is a modern-day Superman, offering beer, wine and spirits delivered in 30 minutes. Hungry? They’ve got snacks like beef jerky, Toblerone, and chips, and other items like Panadol to keep you going.
Fat Belly Jack’s | Petrie Terrace
It’s Ameri-can, not American’t – or at least, that’s our motto when we’re trying to finish plates on plates of Nashville-style fried chicken from Petrie Terrace’s new American eatery, Fat Belly Jack’s. You can feast on everything from mild to “really f%*king hot” fried chicken in a southern-style batter while you’re sippin’ on bourbon and beers.
Openair Cinemas | South Brisbane
Grab a beanbag and settle in, this cinema experience is one you won’t want to miss! Packed full of live entertainment, tasty eats from Salt Meats Cheese, and plenty of cocktails, your pre-show entertainment is sorted – and with an awesome line-up of movies, you’ll be coming back for sure.
The Bavarian | Coomera
The kings of Oktoberfest have landed at Westfield Coomera, and will be opening to the public this weekend. Head to The Bavarian for a celebration featuring live oompah music, chicken dancing, plenty of pork knuckles, and events like sausage eating comps – you’ve gotta be in it to win it!
German Festival | Regatta
German Festival is swinging in for another glass-clinking good time at Regatta Hotel this weekend. This free festival will feature a selection of German style draught and bottled beer, German liqueurs and wines, and a Jägermeister ice luge. Don your finest dirndl, rip into a pretzel and a stein, and get down to live German beats at your local ode to Oktoberfest!
