As we farewell spring and brace ourselves for a seriously steamy summer, we’ve come to the realisation that our hibernation fat won’t do us any favours when it comes to escaping the heat, so we’re going on a very strict diet from this point onwards.

Just kidding.

La Macelleria | Coorparoo Square

Coorparoo just got a whole lot cooler. Escape the heat with a few scoops of creamy gelato from La Macelleria, including their classic Italian flavours like vaniglia, pistachio, fior di latte, and bacio – or their creative flavours with gummi bears, peanuts, coffee, popcorn, and more. Craving that fruity flavour? Made with more than 50% fresh fruit, their sorbetti is a must-try.

Summer is already off to a good start, and it hasn’t even begun. La Lune Wine Co. is offering some unbeatable specials throughout November, like crudo with daikon, chilli, fingerlime, vietmint, and a glass of white wine, or kangaroo carpaccio with wattle seed, butternut, coffee, and a glass of red wine. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Gabba + Co | Woolloongabba

We’re not pulling the Wooll over your eyes, Gabba + Co is the eatery and bar of your dreams. Smashed avo is so last season, we’re all about the innovative avocado jelly and bubble and squeak, paired with an espresso by Wolff Coffee Roasters. Late-night snackers can indulge in baked brie with honey, pistachios, and flatbread, or enjoy a hot prawn cocktail with roast tomato, and Marie Rose sauce.

Huskk | Grange

An earthy, contemporary space, Huskk is open every day with an ever-changing menu, making for a place where you can sit down, eat humble. Indulge in the likes of gingerbread pancakes with whey butterscotch sauce and bunya nut crumble, potato and leek hash with crisp Bangalow pancetta, poached egg, and wilted bower spinach, and slow-cooked chilli and garlic mushrooms with truffle cream and crispy polenta.

Two-Fold | Starward

Starward’s new whisky is, honestly, out of this world. Two-Fold is a blended grain whiskey, aged in red wine barrels, with a price tag of just $65 per bottle. The first round sold out fast, but you can get your hands on the next batch right here!

White Rhino | Surfers Paradise

Welcome to the jungle, we’ve got fun and games – and a whole lotta eats. White Rhino is the latest restaurant and bar in the Circle on Cavill precinct, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily from a two storey, jungle-themed location. Enjoy everything from breakfast pizza to smoothie bowls, pasta, steaks, salad, and smoke-infused cocktails.

Locura | Byron Bay

From the team behind Three Blue Ducks comes a late-night Latin American eatery, Locura. With a focus on smaller, fusion plates of Mexican, Costa Rican and Peruvian cuisines, the menu will include daily specials of hot and cold seafood dishes.

The Pink Hotel | Coolangatta

Paris Hilton is quaking – Coolangatta has transformed the Ocean View Motel into a brand-new boutique hotel, aptly named The Pink Hotel. Pink-hued and quirky, bookings are now being taken, so get in quick! We’re not blushing, you’re blushing.
