What's New This Week

Can you taste the long weekend? We sure can (some might say that our favourite dish is the sweet release of an extra day off). To distract yourself until that glorious moment, here’s a mouth watering little list with word of gin cocktails, craft beer and coconut prawn tacos – because Australia.
Green Beacon | Teneriffe
Don’t worry, beer happy. Green Beacon is celebrating a very happy fifth birthday with their Mango Milkshake IPA! This special release brew tastes like a heavenly combo of mango and vanilla, with a tropical hop character and creamy texture. Get down there on January 26 for that good sip.
Paper Fish | South Bank
Consider us hooked. Paper Fish is the freshest seafood joint in town, plating up the likes of coconut prawn tacos, and seriously good fish (just to state the obvious). Yes they offer takeaway, and yes you should perch your bass down by the river for some solid lunch views.
Bar Spritz | Kangaroo Point
Aperol on in to Bar Spritz if you enjoy livin’. From a killer spritz and cocktail menu to live DJ’s to Italian antipasti, you haven’t summer seshed until you hit up this new sky high bar. Ku-O | Woolloongabba Oh we know we’ll katsu checking out this puppy. Ku-O has opened another venue in Woolloongabba for all your sushi based needs. Udon understand how good these guys are until you go, so get to it!
Which Craft Beer | Albany Creek
If the name hasn’t won you over already, a mint selection of over 30 beers on tap will. Which Craft Beer is quenching our thirst for indie brews, with very snack friendly, locally produced beef jerky on site. Hoppy days.
Long Weekend Guide | Various Locations
Thanks to the magical stylings of yours truly, your long weekend is sorted. Check out our long weekend guide and you could you sippin’ on gin cocktails, feasting on lamb on a spit, and getting jiggy with the Hottest 100 at some of the hottest venues in town. Yeah, yeah, you’re welcome.
Quan 55 | Chirn Park
Please keep your hands and feet in the Quan at all times, and enjoy the ride. Quan 55 is an insanely good new Vietnamese eatery at the Coast, featuring dishes such as house-made pork terrine, grilled squid stuffed with pork mince, glass noodles and water ear mushrooms, and your new favourite pho. Tempted? Give in to it.
Bacchus | South Brisbane
What better way to explore the Queensland coastline than by eating your way through it? It gets better; you don’t even have to leave your seat. Bacchus is hosting a Queensland Coast degustation, meaning either four or seven course offerings including vegan and vegetarian options! With everything from bugs to scallops to oysters, you’ll be having a shucking good time. Words by Nicole Portacha – the gourmand whose favourite breakfast comes with a sleep in on the side.
