We’re snapping back to reality after a blissful long weekend (this is fine), but it’s a little easier with the helping hand of food. From sustainable craft beer to gourmet ice cream to free potato gems, the sweet embrace of every offering this week will get you through.
Pinsa is the new pizza (it’s actually the OG, so welcome back old friend). This ancient Roman peasant street food is fit for a king – think flatbread with anything but flat toppings: zucchini and pancetta, and fig and goat’s cheese. You can also expect bulk pasta and traditional desserts, and yes, it’s BYO (hail Caesar)!
Hello darl. Helios, the Greek god of the sun, is definitely shining down on this new sustainable brewery. Using bulk solar panels, Helios Brewing is able to provide you with liquid gold such as the Athena Scottish Ale, the Hades Bitter Chocolate Stout, and the Poseidon Pale Ale. Buckle up, because food trucks will be on hand to provide tasty eats from Thursday to Saturday. Get him to the Greek.
(external screaming) Ungermann Brothers Ice-Cream Parlour is finally open! Masterchef runner up, Ben, and his bro, Danny, are bringing their finesse to the world of cool treats. Just listen to these flavours – lavender honeycomb, fairy bread and salted caramel with bacon and pecan. What’s cooler than being cool? Ice cold.
You’re going to baffled by how good these jaffles are. Brisbane’s crispiest new food truck is The Traveller Toast and Tap, wheeling in jaffle offerings such as the Tipsy Chicken with slow cooked beer baked chicken, beer gravy and Colby cheese, and the Psketti and Cheese with homemade spaghetti, tomato and basil sauce and Colby cheese. Our bodies are bready.
Stop poking around for a good bowl; let it come to you. Kombi Fresh Bowl is ridin’ clean (not dirty) with the freshest poké bowls in town! To save you the stress of a million options, Kombi keeps it nice and simple with four flavour combos – salmon, tofu, falafel and teriyaki chicken. You’ll then be able to pick from brown rice, coconut rice or glass noodles, and add your fave toppings.
February 3 marks National Tater Tot Day, and Melt Brothers is being an absolute gem to all you crispy lil potato lovers. All you have to do is purchase a cheeky melt on the day, and a loaded container of potato gems with be yours for free! Bless.

Stop, you’re Milton our hearts! The Milton Markets are back for 2018, with an improved location, heaps more seating, parking and stalls. This weekend you can expect Bunker coffee, Banneton Bakery, Enzo’s Pasta and OMG Doughnuts, and you can expect to see us trying to consume as much as is humanly possible.
Tunes and bites by the beach? That’s sure to make waves. Nobby’s Beach Surf Club is launching Sundayz Sessions on February 4 at Albatross Park, where you can drink, dance and taste the best from local food trucks. Beach, please.
A new burger bar? YUP. Billykart West End is launching Billykart Bar this week (in the space of former Billykart Provisions). Their menu hasn’t been revealed ahead of time, but with burgers, craft beers and a short but sweet wine list, we’re pretty sure it’s going to meat all of our expectations.
