  • What's New This Week
Oh hey Autumn, didn’t see you there (seriously stop it’s nearly 2019). While it might take a few solid weeks before we can pull out the sweatpants and use every mild breeze as justification for the excessive amount of hot chips we consume, we can sure get a head start on fall feeding. From Gelato Messina cocktails to Thai street food to $10 Spanner Crab Spaghettini, this week is full of happy little seasonal surprises.
Miss Green’s Beans | South Brisbane
She has a green thumb for coffee my dudes! Miss Green’s Beans is an adorable new coffee shop beaming through the Fish Lane precinct. Open 7am-3pm from Monday to Saturday, you can get your fix of Italian inspired coffee, such as the Espresso Romano (coffee served with lemon). Zesty.
Byblos | Hamilton
What’s cooler than being cool? Ice cold! And what’s cooler than being gelato? Gelato cocktails! We are well and truly screaming because ya boys at Byblos are sprouting a Gelato Messina pop-up every Sunday throughout March! From 3-7pm, you can sip salted coconut mango salsa, lemon, pandan coconut, pear and rhubarb, passionfruit and blood orange gelato infused cocktails. Shooketh.
Bordertown | CBD
Post Office Square is getting a very special delivery, and that’s Bordertown. This Noosaville Tex-Mex dining success is bringing unique tidings to Brisbane from February 26, such as a pulled pork duck taco with pistachio salsa. Guac me, where has this been all our lives?
Pochana | Fortitude Valley
It’s my party and I’ll Thai if I want to. With a Devil City cocktail in one hand and pad prik khing crispy pork in the other, you’ll be praising Pochana for bringing colourful cocktails and Thai street food to your beloved Valley.
Farm House | Kedron
Old MacDonald had a farm, but it wasn’t as lit as Kedron’s Farm House. This BYO bebe has a brand new menu, featuring the likes of soft smoky spiced BBQ pork tacos with chipotle slaw, corned beef toasties and crispy corn fritters. E-i-e-i-YO.
Stokehouse Q | South Bank
If there was ever a time to note an important date in your diary, it’s now. From midday on March 1, Stokehouse Q will be side stepping out with their new signature Spanner Crab Spaghettini. The first 100 bowls will be a mere $10 each, making for one flavoursome dish at one mouth watering price. Clawesome stuff.
The Sound Society | South Bank Parklands & Roma Street Parklands
Free beats? Yup. Here are the deets. Free live music will be blaring through the South Bank parklands every Saturday from 2-7pm, while the Roma Street Parklands will feature tunes from 9am to middy on the first Sunday on every month. That’s music to our ears. Words by Nicole Portacha – the gourmet who’ll be first in line for Spanner Crab spaghettini!
