What’s brewing: BrewCult

Tucked away in the wilds of western Melbourne, a charismatic leader is developing a cult following. No, he’s not a religious crackpot; he’s Steve “Hendo” Henderson, the man behind BrewCult. A self-described hop connoisseur, Hendo isn’t backward in coming forward with new and unusual beers. With names like Can’t Fight the Funk and Outta Sight, you know you’re not going to be in for a mundane drinking experience when you pick up a BrewCult beer. Their flagship IPA, Thanks Captain Obvious, is a good example of the BrewCult style. This beer delivers a veritable fruit salad of aromas and flavours – lime, peach, grapefruit, pear, mandarin, pineapple and caramel. With a stack of hops packed in, it also provides an edge of bitterness that’s true to the style but unique to Hendo’s vision. This is just the thing for those warmer spring afternoons.
