Feast your eyes! James St Food & Wine Trail is back
Four days of non-stop eating? Count us in!
Life is short. Let's eat!
Now that our typical Brisbane winter weather has finally made a return, it’s time to get back out there and make the most of your weekend. From truffle degustations and dessert-inspired cocktails, to refreshing bevvys and late night treats, we’ve got your food and drink itinerary is sorted.Â
In case you didn’t know, it’s truffle season! To celebrate this divine time of year, Brisbane’s beloved Bacchus restaurant is pulling out all the stops with a truffle degustation you won’t want to miss.Â
For $155 per person (or $255 with paired wines) Bacchus is offering diners seven courses (with a grapefruit granita in the middle), each one paying homage to the indulgent truffle. Think risotto with butter and parmigiano reggiano, truffle pecorino with lavosh and quince, and truffle ice cream with hazelnut crumble, just to name a few.Â
The truffle degustation is available for bookings Wednesday to Saturday, so be sure to get in quick to lock in some quality truffle time.Â
Hot tip: The paired wines are too good to pass up – treat yourself!Â
If you’re a fan of wings, Winghaus’ new stuffed wings will be right up your alley. With four delicious flavours to choose from including Monster Mac, packed full of mac and cheese with a touch of bacon jam, you’ll want to try them all.Â
Better still, you can snap these up for $5 each or three for $12. Bargain!Â
Hot tip: Ask the team for their beer of the month.Â
If you’re like us and want winter over and done with, we’ve got just the drink for you. Made on El Jimador Tequila, cointreau, lime juice, watermelon juice and agave, Will & Flow’s watermelon margarita will have you feeling all the summer vibes this weekend.Â
Hot tip: The antipasto platter is also a must!Â
We’re all about cocktails with a twist, and Bar Brutus’ tiramisu cocktail is no exception.Â
Made on cacao infused dark rum, Pellegrino Marsala, espresso, kahlua, and savoiardi biscuits, topped off with a square of dark chocolate, this IS our new favourite cocktail.Â
Hot tip: It may be difficult to stop at one, so order another. You’ve earned it.Â
