Get ready to melt: Brisbane Ice Cream festival is back!
Because a balanced diet is an ice cream in each hand.
Because good food makes everything better!
Congratulations! You’ve reached the end of another week in the year 2022 – that’s an achievement. Go forth and celebrate the Gourmand and Gourmet way.Â
Crunch away the week with Julius’ crispy wood fired pizza and indulge in the tantalising textures and flavours of melted mozzarella, smoked pancetta, tomato, chiodini mushrooms and roasted red onions. It’s guaranteed to take a little pizza your heart.Â
Hot tip: Order the Tiramisu afterwards. Trust me.Â
We love a good burrito here at The G&G, and when we heard Guzman Y Gomez had opened a brand new (drive-thru) location on the northside this week, let’s just say there was some excitement. So, this weekend, you’ll find us tucking into a burrito filled with grilled chicken cooked in GYG’s spicy chipotle marinade, topped with pico de gallo, tomatillo salsa, black beans, rice and jack cheese.Â
Dee-lish!Â
Hot tip: Ordering fries (with chipotle mayo) is a must.
Overlooking the Brisbane River in the stunning Howard Smith Wharves precinct is the vibrant and contemporary Yoko, known for its high impact Japanese flavours. There’s something special about sipping a cocktail in the wharves, and there’s something even more special when it’s Yoko’s slushie on a hot day. Made with Yuzu, rum, passionfruit and mandarin, for the perfect refreshing summer sip.Â
Hot tip: Order more than one, they go down a treat!
Take a step back in time to the cosy cigar and espresso bars of Havana. Curl up with coffee, organic tea and homemade sweet treats as you leaf through second-hand books or rock out to old-school records. If the sky is clear you can even head up to the sunny rooftop or quaint courtyard and lounge on vintage furniture. It’s self care.Â
Hot tip: Put your phone on aeroplane mode when you’re there and check out from the world.
