What to eat and drink this weekend in Brisbane

This one's a goodie!

With another long weekend ahead of us, we think you should use this one to try something new.

Enjoy, pals!

EAT ME

Gourmet | Crab Souffle from Montrachet | King Street, Bowen Hills

Say bonjour to culinary delights this weekend at Montrachet, Queensland’s most acclaimed French restaurant. Their soufflé is double baked and features crab meat, gruyerè cheese, and a light cream bisque, and trust us, it is divine!

Hot tip: Ask the team for their wine recommendations, they know their stuff.

Gourmand | Chicken Karaage Milk Bun at Stratton | Newstead

Stratton Bar & Kitchen may be the new kid on the block, but they know how to make a statement when it comes to their menu. For a taste of Japan, give the chicken karaage milk bun burger a whirl. For $10, this little legend is an absolute steal, and it pairs perfectly with just about any drink on Stratton’s list.

Stop by this weekend to try it for yourself. You won’t regret it.

Hot tip: The duck spring rolls are also a must!

DRINK ME

Gourmet | Cru Negroni Cocktail from CruBar | Fortitude Valley

Ease into another long weekend with a cocktail at CruBar. Swing by and sample their incredible menu of share plates, complete with a Cru negroni of course. Made with their very own ‘Cru’ gin, it’s the perfect beverage to kick off your weekend.

Hot tip: Order a serving of their pork dumplings with sweet hot sauce, or the chicken liver pâté with brioche and port reduction! Delish.

Gourmand | A coffee from Salt | Newstead

Weekends are meant for slowing down and enjoying a cup of coffee, and Salt is arguably one of Brisbane’s best spots. If you don’t have time to stop and soak up Salt’s epic vibe, we recommend picking up a bag of the Julie blend – a gorgeous blend of buttery goodness, with notes of rich caramel and dark chocolate.

But, if you grab your coffee to go (and you’re a cappuccino fan) expect your coffee to come complete with shaved dark couverture chocolate on top. What a time to be alive!

Hot tip: Their breakfast burgers are superb!
