What to eat and drink this weekend in Brisbane

Cheers to the weekend!

While the weather is (still) sub-par, your weekend festivities don’t need to be. From decadent high teas and hand-crafted pastries, to creative cocktails and an epic whisky-apple combo, this weekend has got it all.

Enjoy, foodie friends!

EAT ME

Gourmet | High tea at Bacchus restaurant | South Bank

You may have heard whispers this week that Brisbane’s beloved Bacchus restaurant was making a comeback. You’d be right. And, with it comes the return of their opulent high tea experience.

For $55 per person, indulge in all your sweet and savoury favourites like classic lemon meringue tart, madeleines, scones, ribbon sandwiches and quiche Lorraine, complete with free-flowing Harney & Sons fine teas. What a time to be alive.

Bookings are essential, so visit Bacchus’ website to reserve your spot.

Hot tip: Head to the Bacchus bar for a wine afterwards!

Gourmand | Paris Brest pastry at Agnes Bakery | Fortitude Valley

Weekends are made for pastries, and Agnes Bakery produces some of the best in town. Pop in for a visit and try their sensational Paris Brest (praline and nuts!) pastry. It’s heaven on a plate, honestly.

You’ll have to be quick though, this little beauty won’t be around forever!

Hot tip: Pick up an apple crumble danish while you’re there.

DRINK ME

Gourmet | Sicilian hold up cocktail from COPPA | Brisbane CBD

If you’re still dreaming about last weekend’s Pasta Club event (we are!) then we know you’ll jump at the chance to visit COPPA Spuntino again – even if it is just for a cheeky bevvy.

Made on vodka, Aperol, pineapple and passionfruit, COPPA’s Sicilian hold up cocktail is everything we need this weekend. So go on, give it a whirl!

Hot tip: Order the focaccia bread with EVOO!

Gourmand | Whisky apple from Lefty’s Music Hall | Caxton Street, Milton

If you’re in the mood for a fun night out, a trip to Lefty’s is all that’s required. Step back in time and marvel at this hip, saloon-style bar, complete with live bands, great food, and the best whisky apple beverages this side of Tennessee.

Made with freshly juiced apples right before your eyes, Lefty’s whisky apple combo is the perfect blend of health and hangover. Because, it’s all about balance.

Hot tip: The loaded fries are a must!
