Christmas gift ideas For foodies

The ultimate foodie gift guide: 2019

Christmas Gift Ideas For Foodies

With Black Friday comes the official arrival of gifting season!

This year, put down the socks, forget the candles, and gift your foodie friends (us) something they’ll never forget (and never try to re-gift down the track).

Gin through the season

Let us present not one, but two Christmas-tinged gins for your gifting pleasure (in the hopes that you’ll be invited to sample). The cornerstones of Aussie-made gin, Four Pillars, have released their 2019 Christmas gin, and boy, it’s a shining star. Real deal Christmas puds are distilled to flavour the gin, which is then aged in 100-year-old muscat barrels. Even better? Four Pillars also offers a Christmas gin ham glaze (yum), gift box with a bar spoon (cute), and Christmas gin-soaked pudding in a gorgey tin!

Down along the Victorian coast, the clever elves at The Craft & Co have developed a gingerbread gin that’s screaming Christmas gifting! Made with real ginger root, smashed nutmeg, cinnamon, and tonka bean, it’s a spicy treat waiting to be enjoyed after Christmas lunch (or before… we don’t judge).

Star Wars Le Creuset cookware

In addition to eating, some foodies actually like to make food too! Make their Christmas Day with a limited-edition Star Wars-branded piece of the iconic cast iron cookware, Le Creuset, and then just wait to be invited to a dinner party so they can use it! While the first release has been exhausted, stay tuned for your fave characters and Le Creuset items when they become available again.

City Winery Vintage membership

Love the wine-lover in your life? Give them the ultimate gift this Christmas with a City Winery vintage membership for $550, which includes hands-on experiences with every step of the wine production process including de-stemming, stomping, plunging, and bottling. Vintage membership is broken down into four days: the crush, the press, blending and bottling and labelling, with each day including lunch from their wood-fired kitchen, plenty of wine (duh), and additional entertainment.

Nothing Fancy by Alison Roman

You probably follow her on Insta (you do now, at least), so you know the joyful personality of Alison Roman is the perfect Christmas gift for the cook-er, baker, or breadstick-maker in your life! Her second book, Nothing Fancy, not only makes us reeeeeally want to host a dinner party, but the pictures alone are inspiration for a 2020 full of real, delicious food.

Sweet stocking stuffers

Emporium Hotel’s pastry chef, Alex Norman, has created a stunning sweet (sorry… suite) of Christmas-themed chocolates, pastries, and more. Head to their cafe and pastry haven, Belle Epoque to pick up a chocolate truffle-filled Santa in white, milk or dark choc, gingerbread stars, or adorable candle cakes with passionfruit and ginger jelly and coconut lime dacquoise, cherry baubles, and so much more!

To infinity and Beyond Beer

Nothing tastes better than supporting local businesses, so buy your beery bestie a Brisbane experience thanks to Beyond Beer this Christmas! This newly-launched business has an in at a whole bunch of leading breweries across South East Queensland, so check out their website and stay tuned for a range of brewery tours, beer tasting experiences, and more.

Give your loved one the gift of cooking expertise with a hands-on cooking class at Newstead’s chef-hatted restaurant and cooking school, Golden Pig. With different globally-inspired classes weekly, they’ll soon be whipping up restaurant-grade meals in the comfort of their own home (and if you’re lucky, yours too).

Gorman x Handpicked Wines

The effortless style of Gorman meets, well, wine! Gift the stylish sipper in your life a bottle or case of the pinot noir or chardonnay drops from this collab (both grown and produced on the Mornington Peninsula).
