The new menu we’ll be sampling all summer
12 Dec 2016
It’s no secret we’re pretty big fans of Riverbar & Kitchen. With river views, a sunny beer garden, plenty of booths for those weekend catch ups and best of all, an epic cocktail list, what’s not to love about the riverside bar? With head chef David Bres changing up the food menu every season, there’s always a new reason to stop in for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks – especially when the cocktail list changes to match (there’s even breakfast cocktail jugs – need we say more?). As summer gets well and truly underway (hello heat waves and wild storms!), Riverbar’s new menu features plenty of fresh, zesty flavours – but don’t worry, favourite dishes like that soft shell crab burger and crispy fried calamari are still on the menu. If you want to try something different with your after work drinks, the blackened crispy chicken wings with chipotle mayo go all to well with the new Summer Sgroppino, a mix of vodka, mango sorbet, lime and prosecco. After something a little lighter? Fresh summer flavours abound in the linguini with prawns, chorizo, broad beans and tomato, while the grilled swordfish with green mango salad and cashew nuts will make sure you don’t have to give up your plans for a summer body. It’s the breakfast menu that really got us wishing we could start our Christmas holidays early and spend every morning tucking into their oat pancakes with kiwi fruit, passion fruit and double cream, or ocean trout bruschetta with a soft boiled egg. Preferably with a jug of Laid-Back, mixing gin, guava, orange, mint, lemon and soda, in front of us. The irresistible new cocktails continue on the evening menu, including a dolce and banana colada with rum, pineapple, coconut, lime, cacao and banana foam, and a rosé spritz with rosé, elderflower liqueur, lemon, thyme, soda. We’ll be spending summer with one of those in each hand, thanks. If you’re ready to meet your menu for summer, head to Riverbar & Kitchen – they’re open from 7am to late 7 days a week. But rest assured that we only work with businesses that we think are nifty, as the sponsor for this post is!
