The high tea you’ve been waiting for

  • Food & Booze
Always liked the idea of a fancy high tea, but haven’t been won over by the thought of cucumber sandwiches, Earl Grey and miniature lemon tarts? Well there’s a new afternoon tea in town that might just get you rounding up the girls in excitement – and it’s a high tea in more ways than one. Perched above South Bank at Soleil Pool Bar, seated by their glittering pool in a comfy lounge chair, you can now get your hands on the cutest (and tastiest) array of afternoon delights you’ve ever laid eyes on – laid out on a custom-created platter that replicates the Soleil Pool itself (complete with an astro-turf border!). soleil-garden-tea-2Forget dry scones and macarons, here you’ll get a savoury feast, with king prawn cocktails, Wagyu beef sliders, mini lamb pies with pea puree and pulled chicken tacos. There’s something sweet to finish of course, with mini doughnuts to fill with custard and jam. You can get it with freshly squeezed lemonade, but if you’re in for a really good time, pair the spread with Newstead Brewing’s Liquidamber ale, Pimm’s No. 1 or a glass of Veuve Clicquot champagne. Want something a little more adventurous? Try one of Soleil’s signature punch bowls or carafes, like the DIY Gypsy’s Tears with gin, Pimm’s, ginger ale, and lemonade – you’ll be feeling fancy in no time. The Garden Tea is available 7 days a week 12-6pm at Soleil Pool Bar – grab some friends, find a spot to soak up the sun on the pool deck and get ready to get your tea party on (only without the tea).
