The End of the Line festival returns for 2015

  • Food & Booze
Got a hankering to get out of the house this weekend for some gourmet eats and vintage treasures? You’re in luck, because Woolloongabba’s favourite street festival, The End of the Line Festival, is returning for 2015 on Saturday, October 24 for a full day of food, entertainment and shopping. All of the suburbs delicious foodie spots are jumping on board with eats and drinks you won’t find available on just any old weekend, so this is an event you don’t want to miss. Pearl Café is switching it up from their usual porky eats to put on a Spanish-style fiesta, complete with Spanish beers, roast corn on the cob and potato rolls stuffed with chorizo and peppers, and relaxed dining can be had at The Crosstown Eating House where you’ll find a chilled BBQ awaiting out the front of the gastropub. Other local venues like Moose & Gibson and Canvas will be dishing up their own delicious eats, while plenty of food trucks and providores will be rolling in to provide gourmet street food. Grab a brew from the Stone & Wood caravan, pick up some pulled pork nachos from Little Back and relax in the sunshine while you listen to the live music wafting over from the entertainment stage. This year, the Woolloongabba Plantage Botanical Markets will be joining the line up of events and offering boutique, hand made goods from a few of their favourite creators. Throw pop-up stores, historical displays, plenty of live music and projection art into the mix and you have one fabulously eclectic day out. Free to attend, the celebration kicks off at 10am with the festivities continuing well into the night. Check out the website for more details. Words by Ranyhyn Akui
