The Brisbane bucket list: 10 things to feast on in November

Did you really think you were going to have a quiet November? A calm before the December storm? Perhaps you thought the increase in moustached faces would be the most exciting thing to happen for the month – you thought wrong. There’s so many delicious happenings, new openings and fresh new menus to eat your way through this month that you might just want to buy some new stretchy pants for the occasion! #1. Ice cream sandwich | Lick! Ice Cream | Graceville We’ve discovered how to make our favourite Lick! Ice Cream flavour even tastier – get it between 2 freshly baked shortbread cookies and dipped in chocolate! #2. Pumpkin and maple doughnut | Nodo Donuts | Newstead  Have it as an afternoon snack or have it for breakfast, Nodo’s new guilt free doughnut flavour is worth a trip to their just opened café! #3. Royal Croquet Club | South Bank | November 6-22 It’s not just about whacking little white balls with mallets, it’s also about eating your way through some of Brisbane’s best eats, including epic Miss Kay’s burgers and The Doughnut Bar sweets! #4. Gourmet beef burger | Chapter IV | Paddington Tucked away in Paddington is a serious contender for Brisbane’s best burger. With a fresh brioche bun, juicy beef patty and everything from gorgonzola to maple cured bacon stacked on top, it’s the ultimate suburban dinner. #5. Breakfast nachos | Suburban | West End We thought our nachos addiction couldn’t get any worse – then we found crisp potato curls topped with spicy mince, poached eggs and hollandaise! #6. Summer Night Markets | Bowen Hills | Every Friday from November 13 With a summer of scorching weekend mornings on the way, the Summer Night Markets are the cool alternative, taking over The Old Museum with food trucks, local produce and artisan goods. #7. Steak frites | Darling & Co | Paddington It’s the hot new food trend and it’s on the menu at Paddington’s hot new venue. Best paired with a boutique wine or craft beer. #8. Braised beef cheek pie | Willow & Spoon | Newmarket Pie for breakfast? Don’t mind if we do, especially if it’s the tender, flavoursome beef cheek pie wrapped in crisp pastry at Willow & Spoon! #9. Bulimba Festival | Bulimba | November The Bulimba Festival is back and it’s bigger and better than ever, with a huge lineup of foodie events to put in your diary. #10. Baked eggs | The Roastery Café | South Brisbane TBH, we would put all of The Roastery Café’s new breakfasts on the list if we could, but their rich baked eggs had us especially drooling – and totally defeated by their size! Happy eating! Words by Ranyhyn Akui
