The Brisbane breakfast bucket list: Round 2

Not only did we forget a crucial detail when we rounded up Brisbane’s best breakfasts for your weekend brunch pleasure (52 weeks in the year = 52 Sundays AND 52 Saturdays to head out breakfast, duh!) but we’ve found so many more delicious spots, both new and old, that we just had to do round 2.

So clear your weekend schedule for the next few months, because it’s time to eat your way through the best breakfasts in Brisbane!

  1. The Jam Pantry | Greenslopes | Blackboard specials. Ever changing, ever creative, The Jam Pantry’s delicious breakfasts will have you coming back every week to see what’s new.
  2. King Arthur | Fortitude Valley | Brioche French toast. French toast puts all other toasts to shame, especially when it’s topped with banana, coconut caramel and passionfruit ice cream!
  3. Locavore | Woolloongabba | Strawberries & cream hotcakes (pictured). Locavore’s menu changes seasonally, but this is one breakfast you’ll want to rush in for.
  4. Arthur’s Green | Red Hill | Hash cakes with bacon, eggs and tomato chutney. Best paired with a fresh juice and a sunny spot out the front.
  5. Merriweather | South Brisbane | Sweet potatas bravas. Make breakfast an international affair with crisp roasted sweet potatoes with spicy tomato aioli, fried egg and chorizo.
  6. Moose & Gibson | Woolloongabba | Mad Moose. A big breakfast with attitude, it’s piled high with eggs, bacon, chorizo and a whole lot more.
  7. Flute | Cooparoo | Corn cakes. Sweet corn cakes filled with feta and served up with avocado, onion jam and sour cream. Just yum.
  8. Pawpaw | Woolloongabba | Brioche stack. Brioche French toast with berry and vanilla mascarpone, seasonal fruit and white chocolate. Need we say more?
  9. Harveys Bar & Bistro | Fortitude Valley | Potato and feta roesti. Our favourite carbs, crisped to perfection and topped with creamed sweet corn, poached eggs and herb salsa.
  10. Little Loco | New Farm | Savory waffle Benedict. Combining more breakfast foods than we thought possible, with a cheese and smoked ham waffle, poached eggs and chipotle hollandaise.
  11. The Tuckshop | Hendra | Canadian pancakes with banana and dates. Or you could just have a jam donut. Or both.
  12. Double Shot | New Farm | Scrambled eggs. Not just any scrambled eggs, these come served in a flaky pastry cup.
  13. Todd & Pup | Tarragindi | Vege stack. Haloumi lover? You’ll drool over this pile of pumpkin, basil pesto, poached eggs and cheesiness then!
  14. Espresso Train | Nundah | Breakfast burrito. For breakfast with a side of charity action, you can’t go past this local gem.
  15. Alcove | Wilston | Roast pumpkin and chickpea fritters. Thought you’d had all the fritter variations there is? Think again.
  16. Samson & Sophie | New Farm | Apple and coconut hot cakes. With whipped lemon ricotta and sour cherries, it’s a sweet treat for cold mornings.jacu espresso
  17. Jacu Espresso | Norman Park | French toast. With fresh blueberries and raspberries, ice cream and almonds, it looks (and tastes) like heaven on a plate.
  18. Picnic | Camp Hill | Caramel doughnut cocowhip. Somehow gluten and dairy free and low fat, this jaw-dropping treat is all our dreams come true!
  19. Home Store Café | Ashgrove | Breakfast nachos. Nachos for breakfast. It’s real. It’s delicious.
  20. Grandmas Kiwi Kitchen | Springwood | Dre’s Eggs Benny. Taking eggs benny above and beyond with avocado, pan-fried kumara and potato and bacon.
  21. Esher St Café & Deli | Tarragindi | Canadian pancakes. Light and fluffy, you can’t go wrong with these, especially if there’s a special on the board!
  22. Brown Sugar Café | Victoria Point | The big Canadian. At least three breakfasts in one, with pancakes topped with eggs benny AND cream AND ice cream. Yep.
  23. Botanica | Red Hill | Good Morning Sunshine breakfast. Not just one, but up to 5 scrumptious brekkys like chia pudding, overnight oats and coconut yoghurt make it into this takeaway goodness.
  24. Finiky Fresh Gluten Free | Taringa | Gluten free bagels. Yes, you read right, gluten free. Get an avocado or bacon stuffed bagel for brekky and a donut for afters!
  25. Elixir Coffee | Stafford | Banoffee pancakes with espresso ganache. Because if you’re going to get breakfast at an award winning coffee spot, it really should involve coffee.
  26. Vine | New Farm | Belgian cookie dough waffle. Complete with salted caramel sauce. If there was ever a reason to get out of bed on a Sunday, this is it.
  27. New Farm Deli | New Farm | Spicy mince. Everything you ever dreamed of comes on toast at this favourite spot, but the rich ragu calls to us every time.
  28. Hansell & Gretel | Gaythorne | DIY breakfast. Pick and choose from all the sides you could want to create your own epic plate.
  29. Gauge | South Brisbane | Black garlic bread. Rounding out the most unique breakfast menu in town is this sweet and savoury morsel.
  30. Pineapple Express | Hamilton | Protein pancakes. Pancakes without the guilt, these come topped with coyo, honey and mixed berries.
  31. The Racing Café | Hendra | House stack. Potato rosti, tomato, haloumi and eggs combine to make a stack to race in for!
  32. Au Cirque | New Farm | Breakfast special. What creative new yums you find on the ever changing board will be worth the line out the door.
  33. Famished on Frasers | Ashgrove | Slow cooked beef brisket. Finally, someone who’ll let us have brisket for breakfast – with fried polenta chips, poached eggs and mozarella to boot!
  34. Chapter IV | Paddington | Sweet potato and zucchini fritter stack. Enjoy it with a side of the best view in Paddington. And coffee, always coffee.
  35. Site Café | Banyo | Breakfast tapas. Why stop at one dish when you can have cheesy hash, spicy chorizo, beetroot mousse, garlic roasted mushroom, pumpkin and zucchini fritters, grilled halloumi and Turkish toast!
  36. Tutto | Ashgrove | Brekky pide. Get in your carb loading early with toasted Turkish stuffed with bacon, chutney, eggs, cheese and hollandaise.
  37. Ave Cucina | Cooparoo | Pancake special. Look we love pancakes, ok. Especially when we can get excited for a new flavour every week!
  38. Rogue Bar and Bistro | Newstead | Pork belly omelette. Anywhere that serves pork belly for breakfast AND dinner is delicious in our books.
  39. Hop Scotch and Beans | Petrie Terrace | 65 Roses. Charitable and delicious, with $2 from every red velvet hotcake topped with mascarpone and berries going to Cystic Fibrosis Queensland.brisbanes best breakfasts 2 alfred and constance
  40. Alfred & Constance | Fortitude Valley | Quinoa pancakes. Bet you didn’t know your favourite cocktail haunt does a mean breakfast too!
  41. Dovetail on Overend | Norman Park | Baked eggs. Dovetail’s baked egg variations are legendary, and #7, with chilli con carne and feta is no different.
  42. Hedge Espresso | Salisbury | Harissa beans and eggs. Spice up your morning with Harissa-spiced beans. Add chorizo if you dare.
  43. My Mistress | Clayfield | Eggs Monica. Be seduced by corn and zucchini fritters with scrambled egg, smashed avo and cherry tomatoes. We’re not sure what they have to do with presidential infidelity, but we like them
  44. Journey | Ascot | Brekky tower. Things that come in towers are always good, especially when it involves bacon, fried eggs and hash browns.
  45. Foxy Bean | Woolloongabba | Hello haloumi bruschetta. Like no bruschetta you’ve tried before, this comes topped with avocado, grilled haloumi and lime and chilli dressing.
  46. Hallowed Grounds Espresso | Mt Gravatt | French toast bagel. Imagine cinnamon and raisin bagel French toast topped with whipped vanilla bean cream cheese, fresh mixed berries and maple syrup. Yum.
  47. That Little Place | Mt Gravatt | Big brekky. It might be cosy, but you won’t leave hungry after a big brekky and a smoothie!
  48. The Flying Nun | Samford | Nuns own Boston beans. Baked beans have gone gourmet with gruyere cheesy toast and fried eggs!
  49. Canvas | Woolloongabba | Breakfast burger. A bar that does breakfast? With breakfast cocktails?? Need we say more?
  50. Coconut Coffee House | Ormiston | Smoothie. All you need to know is that there’s a few thousand flavours to choose from and the coffee is to die for.
  51. Alter Ego | Rosalie | Blueberry cheesecake crepes. Decadent and guilt-free at the same time, gluten free crepes stuffed with sweetened cream cheese, fresh strawberries and generous drizzle of maple syrup.
  52. Ramekins Café | Carseldine | Good start breakfast bowl. Green breakfasts aren’t just for city slickers, suburbanites can tuck into this bowl of kale, spinach, sweet potato, chickpeas, avo and eggs!

You might just have to start going out to breakfast in Brisbane during the week!
