The All-American student night to ditch your local for
04 Mar 2015
Forget toga parties and pyjama nights, Brisbane’s coolest new student night is the all-American Frat Night at Buffalo Bar, complete with beer pong and discounts for anyone willing to flash their cringe-worthy student ID photo. You’ve seen them in the movies you downloaded blurry copies of and on the American TV shows you record to watch on mum and dad’s Foxtel every weekend (when you head over to pick up your freshly ironed washing). Now you can join in the fun of frat nights yourself, with American beers in red cups, eating contests and USA BBQ every Wednesday night at Buffalo Bar. Buffalo bar is taking off its cowboy hat and letting its hair down for one night of the week, pouring beers into plastic instead of glass, firing up the grill for some classic American feeds and turning up the volume on live music. Ditch the textbooks and walk, ride or float (the ferry terminal is just a few blocks away!) to the CBD and find the big building pumping out rockabilly tunes on Mary Street. Don’t worry that Buffalo Bar’s usual delicious eats (those wings!) and quality craft beers will be ditched for the night, they’ll still be serving up the authentic American food and booze we love them for, just at student-friendly prices. Of course, you can just drop the class act entirely, dive into a Lord of the Wings hot-wing eating challenge and come away victorious with a face full of sauce – it’s up to you. So if you’re one of those types who turns your nose up at $2 steaks, VB and dancing to John Farnham on sticky floors, put on your best polo (and pop the collar of course) and head along to Buffalo Bar the next time your putting off exam prep. The All-American Frat Night will be happening every Wednesday night from 6pm at Buffalo Bar. Don’t forget your student card for those discounts! Words by Ranyhyn Akui Keeping the G&G up to date with all the latest tasty tidbits requires a lot of double lattes and espresso martinis, so we occasionally need to give out some sponsored love. But rest assured that we only work with businesses that we think are really nifty, as the sponsor for this post is!
