Taste of Asia

Brisbane is set to embrace all things Asian cuisine this Friday with Taste of Asia being held at Reddacliff Place on George Street. Food demonstrations and lively discussions by sous chef Sarah Ghim of Treasury Casino & Hotel’s Fat Noodle and celebrity chef Adam Liaw will leave you hungry for more, while the Asian food culture panel will give you all the tools you need to bring the Far East to your home. If you’d rather leave the cooking to the professionals, indulge in a food tour of the festival instead and enjoy dishes including teppanyaki, dumplings, and steamed treats from the many market stalls that will be dotted about the square. Taste of Asia is the signature free culinary event of the 2014 BrisAsia Festival, and is sure to be a feast for the mind and belly alike for Asian culture lovers. The BrisAsia Festival aims to strengthen awareness of the Asian culture in Brisbane through events and workshops. The festival, which kicked off on January 31 and will end on March 1, involves more than 50 events for the public to participate in and enjoy. Taste of Asia will be held at Reddacliff Place on Friday, February 27 from 4 – 9pm. Words by Lucy-Ellen Steadman
