If you thought Brisbane had the best breakfast spots in Queensland, you have a whole other shire coming your way – which means plenty more cafes to add to your bucket list!

From Sunshine Beach to Sunrise Beach (yes, both of those actually exist), let the G&G take you through all the awesome stacks, long blacks, and bacon racks that the Sunshine Coast has to offer.

Bleu Bean Café | Mooloolaba

Sacré bleu! Kicking off our bucket list is the family-owned Bleu Bean Café, whose three sisters serve delicious coffees alongside an interesting shrooms breakfast – Turkish bread topped with butterbean hummus, a mushroom medley, herbed aioli, and greens.

White Picket Fence Café | Caloundra

Nineteen-fifties surburbia? Eh.

But White Picket Fence Café? Hooray! Inside this cutesy pink-brick café lies a stunning gnocchi dish, made flavoursome with chorizo, tomato passata, Persian feta, and fresh basil on sourdough.

FOMO | Sunshine Beach

Squash any fears out missing out with just one trip to this seaside bar-turned-café in the mornings! Our top pick? You Had Me at Haloumi – a grilled haloumi and roasted capsicum hummus extravaganza, served with rocket, pumpkin sourdough, and poached egg.

Tome | Maroochydore

PSA to sweet tooths – do not scroll past this!

Tome regularly takes visitors to candyland with its super sweet offerings, including impressive whole cakes, mini cupcakes, coffee, and our favourite, various glazed scrolls on Sundays.

The Birds & The Beans | Buderim

It’s ‘the talk’ of the town, foodies! The Birds & The Beans is a gorgeous hole-in-the-wall café plating up delicious New York-style bagels and seasonal meals that go perfectly with its superstar coffee, brewed inhouse using Kai Coffee beans.

Schwenkee Espresso | Mooloolaba

Schwenkee is swanky, and the proof is in their divine speciality coffee and brunchy eats. Think sweet French toasties filled with maple bacon, cinnamon, and banana to be enjoyed alongside chai lattes topped with a dash of turmeric spice.

Husk & Honey | Nambour

It’s the land of Husk & Honey, and the G&G are buzzin’ to stop by! First on our honey-do list is the café’s is gluten-free, grain-free, and vegan almond waffles topped with banana, coconut yoghurt, toasted pecans, blueberries and maple syrup. Talk about a triple threat.

VanillaFood | Noosa Heads

On the same gluten-free wavelength are the bad boys of the vegan game, VanillaFood! Located in Belmondos Organic Market, this café plates up super wholesome meals, including a roasted sweet potato with Australian native greens, macadamia and myrtle lemon crumb, hemp seeds, finger lime, and smoked labneh.

The CAF | Coolum

Here’s one you did nasi coming! The breakfast nasi bowl at Coolum’s The CAF is one of the best, boasting brown rice, iceberg lettuce, sprouts, grilled chicken, tomato, and the requisite fried egg topped with coriander and mint.

Decisions Café | Bertinya

It’s time to arrive at a decisions – specifically, Decisions Café! These guys make choosing breakfast easy, with every dish guaranteed to be delicious. Dive into their superfood Buddha bowl with pumpkin salad and lemon labneh or opt for superjunk ricotta blueberry hotcakes instead!

Flying West Roasters | Doonan

Looking fly out west is easy at this clothing store/ industrial-style café! As well as providing the Noosa Hinterland with all the best coffee they could ever need, Flying West Roasters also sells some pretty slick tees as well as their flagship coffee beans. 

Canteen Kitchen + Bar | Noosa

Way better than a sausage roll from the school tuckshop is this Canteen Kitchen + Bar, who know a thing or two about yummy breakfasts. High on our recommendation list is the 3-cheese omelette with Mooloolaba king prawns (or jamon), pecorino, vintage cheddar, and provolone.

The Shak Organic Café  | Buderim

Feeling Curio? Then Nitro on down to The Shak for brilliant organic eats, including Forage Farm free-range eggs on toasted Walters Artisan ciabatta and grilled tomato puree.

Glass Coffee House | Maroochydore

Nothing like a freshly brewed coffee to help you break the glass ceiling this morning, and Glass Coffee House is here to help you on your quest! Head on in for a Bonsoy iced latte perfectly paired with a flaky almond croissant buttered with sweet almond mascarpone.

Café Le Monde | Noosa

Having fuelled surfers and early-risers since 1986, it’s no wonder that Café Le Monde is one of the most respected cafes in the Noosa ‘burbs. Find out the secret behind their success when diving into their Noosa spanner crab omelette, topped with chilli, coriander, coconut and lime dressing.

The Velo Project | Mooloolaba

This little eclectic café in the heart of Mooloolaba is making strides in sustainability one green footprint at a time. Think organic, healthy meals like their signature Roma to Athens; a whipped feta with balsamic gel, and garden pea puree.

Costa Noosa Espresso | Sunshine Beach

If you haven’t visited the coffee haven that is Costa Noosa Espresso, you’ve bean missing out! Besides their A grade, 100% Arabica coffee, this café also plates up super sweet mini cakes and treats to enjoy as well.

Depot Café | Noosaville

Make sure your next brekky pitstop is Depot Café, where one can fuel up on all sorts of amazing eats! Imagine gorgeous warm apple crumble with creamy oats or the green smoothie bowl topped with seasonal berries.

Elixiba | Maroochydore

What sorcery is this!? Witness the magic that is Elixiba turning plants and roots into gourmet goodness with vegan perfect protein pancake packed with raspberry chia, banana, and peanut butter.

Guru Life | Rosemount

Swami on into Guru Life to learn all about vegan dining by getting your hands on Leo Di Caprio (alas, the vegan bowl, not the man). This dreamy breakfast dish is filled with potato kofta, falafel, oven-roasted mushroom, tomato, avocado, hummus, tomato relish, cashew cheese and toast.

The Colombian Coffee Co. | Mooloolaba

Artisanal coffee coming your way! Get fancy with their signature house blend ‘The Fat Mule,’ a naturally processed Brazilian coffee from Pocos de Caldas that goes great with the café’s tasty jaffa protein balls or fresh banana bread.

Backstreet Café | Buderim

Backstreet’s back, alright! Head down Glen Kyle Drive to tuck into their café’s Avo Deluxe – your everyday avo on toast elevated with Persian feta, cherry toms, two poached eggs, bacon, lemon oil, and dukkah.  

Daily Dose | Mount Coolum

Usually the G&G are not the type to scale mountains, but a trip to Mount Coolum is a lot easier with a daily dose of this awesome café. Hit up their yummy beetroot-filled buddha bowl or chow down on the Asian-style pulled pork eggs Benny with sautéed greens instead.

The Nines | Maroochydore

Eat to the The Nines at this Maroochydore café which serves up a whole host of bottomless meals. Tying for first place in our books is their divine Cloud Nine smashed avo on sourdough with grilled mushrooms and The Cereal Killa, toasted whole grain oat and honey clusters sprinkled with flaked almonds, vanilla yoghurt, and seasonal fruits.

Chalet & Co. | Sunrise Beach

Meet under the chalet, and let’s get cosy with this Sunrise Beach’s with their all-day (that means brekkie, folks!) chalet poke bowl filled with Tasmanian raw salmon,  brown rice, avocado, edamame, radish, tahini sesame and ponzu sauce.

Coolum Surf Club | Coolum

Instagram-worthy cafes are great, but it doesn’t hurt to give the local at wave from time to time! Shake a shaka sign at the Coolum Surf Club and be rewarded with their buckwheat pancake stack or Jack Morgan brekky burger stacked with bacon, egg, and Aussie cheddar cheese.

La Finca | Mooloolaba

We think that La Finca is a must-do on every Mooloolaba visitor’s list, thanks to its Colombian-inspired menu that will have everyone’s tastebuds do the tango. Be sure to get your hands on their irresistible roaster pumpkin hummus on sourdough or sweet potato and corn fritters with tomato relish.

Maleny Food Co. | Maleny

No need to cry over spilt milk this breakfast time – the land of dairy cows (aka Maleny) is here to save the day! Head into the Maleny Food Co.’s café for a date with their cheesy ricotta pancakes topped with local strawberries and vanilla bean gelato. Forget you’re lactose-intolerant and seize the day!

Little Boat Espresso| Marcoola

Sail on in to Little Boat Espresso and anchor down with a barista-made coffee and a plate of their okonomiyaki green pancakes topped with twice-cooked pork jowl and a fried egg with chilli and coriander.

The Pocket Espresso | Moffat Beach

Keep these guys in your back pocket for the next time you need a gorgeous breakfast feast! Be sure to make fast friends with the veggie brekkie pie, filled with roast leek, sundried tomato, feta, spinach, onion, and egg.

Hand of Fatima |Peregian

Here to lend you a henna-tattooed hand is this groovy Peregian café, which comes stocked with quality coffee and their signature Mediterranean breakfast tagine of kafta meatballs, tomato, feta, and Turkish eggs.

Homegrown | Palmwoods

Feel right at home at this small-batch coffee house and seasonally focused homegrown café! These guys are experts at sustainable eating, serving delicious and wholesome meals such as vanillia cassia panna cotta with poached spiced pears and toasted granola.

CK Coffee Bar | Mooloolaba

Have your breakfast and take it home too, thanks to CK Coffee Bar doubling as a wholefood grocer as well as a café! Their yummy menu is divided into savoury and sweet, with their aesthetic banana and cinnamon waffle topped with goji berries definitely catching our eye.

The Milk Bar Coffee Co. | Maroochydore

Take it back to the good ol’ days at The Milk Bar with their nostalgic toasties. For a toastie with extra edge, however, look no further than their scrumptious black truffle and roast mushroom filler served with pickles and mustard sauce.

Cock and Hen | Twin Waters

This is no cock and bull story – Cock and Hen in Twin Waters really does it all, including a delicious mix grilled consisting of crunchy brisket, streaky bacon, snags, tomato, mushrooms, fried eggs and hp.

Raw Energy | Peregian

Paleos, gather around for this energetic feast! Raw Energy in Peregian are serving up some killer meals, with our favourite being the superfood acai bowls filled with feel good nutrients and seasonal fruits.
