Stop and taste the rosé at Blush by Effervescence
Alas, while the G&G froths a bag of goon or bottle of Passion Pop as much as the next person, we also think Brisbane’s in desperate need of something just that little more fancy.
Luckily, popping up this July 21 is Blush by Effervescence, a gorgeous champagne festival completes with its own mini-tasting trail that will be both familiar and refreshing to Brisbane wine connoisseurs.
At first blush, foodies may not recognise that this pop-up is actually the much-loved Effervescence Champagne Festival, renamed and moved to a new location closer to home at Hanworth House in East Brisbane!
Featuring all the elements adored in past festivals, such as bottomless bubbly and an indulgent long lunch, Effervescence is also raising its game with the inclusion of celebrity chef Alastair McLeod as caterer and a dedicated focus on the most evocative of champagnes – rosé!
This bubbly one-day festival is four major events in one, beginning at 12pm with McLeod’s Truffle & Rosé long luncheon that’s sure to have every guest tippled pink! The celebrity chef’s indulgent four-course affair is sure to have everyone feeling rosy, especially since it’ll be perfectly paired with half a dozen pink champagnes.
Shortly to follow at 2:30pm with a sip-happy stroll through Hanworth House’s tasting trail, where guests will be greeted by the best wines from six of Australia’s most prestigious champagne houses.
Keeping all festival-goers’ glasses half-full will also be Cooking With Champagne master classes by Cook Live Love’s Fleur Sharpe, and a luxurious Champagne For A Cause vertical tasting of six iconic 1996 champagnes, with all proceeds from this ticketed event going towards the Mater Hospital Foundation’s Chicks in Pink breast cancer charity.
Furthermore, what’s rosé without a little cheek? Rumour has it that Blush by Effervescence will be rewarding those dressed in the most beautiful pinks will be rewarded with a best-dressed prize, while a raffle on the day will also give one lucky winner a free dinner for eight in the historic Hanworth House, valued at $4000!
