Things To Do In Redcliffe

Craving sand between your toes and salt air in your lungs? Read more to view our guide to the best things to do in Redcliffe.

If you’re longing for a coastal escape but don’t have the time to make a weekend of it, Redcliffe is just a 30-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of the CBD but feels like a whole world away.

MORNING

Start off EARLY – if it’s a nice day we can guarantee that the road will be HEAVING with the entirety of Brisbane trying to make their way to water. Hit the road and skip the takeaway coffee en-route, it’s only going to slow you down.

Make a beeline straight for Mon Komo Hotel and pull up a seat at Restaurant Caribee. Tuck into chipotle baked beans with crumbed egg, waffles with strawberries three ways and vanilla fairy floss or salmon and zucchini waffles, washed down with that long-awaited latte.

After you’ve refuelled take a stroll along the water to take in the picturesque coast line. Have a dip or a splash around in the Settlement Cove Lagoon and a wander through Charlish Park before making your way to the iconic Bee Gees Way.

The 70m walkway is a multimedia museum to the famous Redcliffe residents with photos, album covers and a video screen with never before seen footage of the band, with light shows set to music illuminating the walkway at night.

AFTERNOON

It wouldn’t be a trip to the water without devouring fish and chips, so after your cheeky stroll down memory lane it’s time for lunch at Preece’s at the Jetty. Once the Jetty Café, the space has been fully renovated and is now a modern space with jetty views. Keep it traditional with fresh or battered snapper or barramundi with chips and salad, or spice it up with Asian style grilled barramundi.

After something a little different? Cactus Jack’s Tex Mex Bar & Grill will spice up your day trip with jalapeno poppers, achiote shredded chicken quesadillas, sweet and spicy buffalo wings and chilli cheese fries.

Looking to have a drink before the trip home? Swing back towards Mon Komo for Seaside Saturday’s from 2pm. With live music and entertainment, it’s the perfect way to end your day in Redcliffe.

As the sun starts to set it’s time to wipe off the sand and assess the sunburn damage (ouch), back to the city with you!
