Spotlight on Up Butter

  • Food & Booze
Everyone experiments with spreads and preserves. We get curious, okay? Sometimes we think it’d be nice to have a dollop of jam, a spoonful of Nutella, or a buttery piece of Vegemite toast. Is it good? Yes. But we all know that peanut butter is the real MVP of the spread world. Whether it’s smeared onto thick-cut toast, sandwiched in a glorious partnership with strawberry jam, or mixed into a pan of extra-calorific brownies, peanut butter is there for us, and it never seems to let us down. To cries of dismay, though, it’s often discovered that PB isn’t diet-friendly. Never fear, though! The Way Up has got your back. They love peanut butter as much as we do, and they’ve figured out a way to get our scales to love it, too. This Brisbane company has dedicated its efforts to health, fitness, and… yup, peanut butter. The Way Up has developed a nutritious, high-protein, low-carb peanut butter that’s full of local, roasted hi-oleic peanuts. The peanuts they use are known for their superior flavour and amount of omega-6 unsaturated fat (which isn’t one of the nasties that’ll up your cholesterol). And, as we mentioned, The Way Up is totally dedicated to fitness and exercise, so you know this PB won’t stretch your waistband. Along with their traditional version of Peanut UP Butter, which is a combination of smooth and crunchy peanut butter, The Way Up sells several other variations (but never loses that peanutty goodness!). You can pick from Choco, Cookie, and Latte-flavoured peanut butters. Each possess their own unique flavours, but all stick to that common theme of high-protein, low-carb. Whether you’re blending it into a pre-workout smoothie, adding it to your recipe for protein balls, or just spooning it out of the jar and stuffing it into your gob, The Way Up has ensured that your love for peanut butter is still alive and very, very well. For now, you can order online, but we’re sure you’ll be finding on shelves soon. Words by Samantha Chariton
