South Brisbane comes alive for Fish Lane Festival

Brisbane foodies, get out your diaries and take note! On Saturday 7 May, South Brisbane’s Fish Lane is properly announcing themselves as the newest mecca for food and drink lovers, and will play host to a festival showcasing all things gourmet and delicious, with a little help from Aria Property Group and The Fox Hotel. With the festivities starting from midday and rounding up at 10pm, you’ll have plenty of time to familiarise yourself and your stomach with a culinary menu showcasing signature dishes and top-shelf drinks for your favourite Fish Lane precinct cafes, restaurants and bars. From Merivale to Grey Street, Fish Lane will come alive for the day, with 2 stages for live music, pop-up bars, food stalls and even a Tanqueray Gin Garden. Best of all, entry is free, so you’ll have even more dosh to spend on all the food! With barramundi fish tacos from The Gunshop Café, BillyKart Kitchen’s pulled pork burgers and fresh oysters from Gauge, there’ll be plenty to spend it on. All that eating is bound to make you thirsty, but Maker will have you covered with their unique signature cocktail on offer. fish lane festival 2Once you’ve regained those fluids, take a crack at the gnocchi from Julius Pizzeria, cheeseburger spring rolls from The Fox Hotel, yakitori skewers from Birds Nest Restaurant, a lion’s head meatball sandwich from Madame Wu and chicken wings and candied beer olives from Saccharomyces Beer Café. Drooling yet? Because we believe in the importance of balance, you can’t forget dessert, and boy, does Fish Lane Festival have you covered in this area. You may have heard whispers, and yes the rumours are true! Australia’s favourite gelato will be making its way to South Brisbane very soon, and to celebrate, Gelato Messina will be serving up a few of their mouth-watering flavours including salted caramel and white chocolate, milk chocolate and peanut fudge, salted coconut and mango, with a surprise flavour yet to be revealed. But if you’re more about drinking than dessert, Little Creatures and White Rabbit will also be around to fulfil all those beery important needs, with a couple of ciders thrown in for good measure. MadFish will have you covered with a premium selection of boutique wines and then there’s the gin cocktails from the Tanquerary Gin garden to keep you feeling refreshed. Celebrate the rebirth of South Brisbane’s new favourite foodie haven on Saturday 7 May from midday to 10pm. Drink, dance to local music acts, eat, explore, then drink and eat again!
