Say Hello Harry with a juicy burger and loaded fries

Hello, it’s Harry you’ve been searching for! The burger bonanza sweeping Brisbane doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon and we’re definitely not complaining. Get ready to become acquainted with the newest burger king on the block, Hello Harry. This Sunshine Coast favourite has set up shop at Portside Wharf (you’ll also find them in Forest Lake) with all the burgers, shakes and fries you can dream of, inside an uber cool urban inspired eatery. Think graffitied walls, neon signs and a whole lot of timber – no swanky minimalism or pretentious greenery around here, thank you very much. Harry’s a thoughtful guy too, with monster paper towel rolls on every table for when things get messy, and they will – this is a real burger joint after all! The brainchild of two hatted chef Tony Kelly, who’s worked his magic at Stokehouse and Sunshine Coast hot spot Wine Bar, and his best mate Scott Hoskins, you’ll be right for having high hopes for Brisbane’s new kid on the burger block. The no-nonsense, no-fluff, real deal burgers will not disappoint even the toughest burger connoisseur. hello harry brisbane burgers 2If you’re one for the classics (burgers, not Jane Austin) there’s the grass fed beef burger, paired with cheese, pickles and mouth watering home-made tomato jam. Feeling more adventurous? The slow cooked lamb with minted onions, feta and lemon yoghurt will win over any burger unbeliever. And what’s a burger without sides? That’s like Batman without Robin, or Thelma without Louise. Onion rings, sweet potato fries, house made slaw and the pièce de résistance – the “loaded” chips with cheese, green onions and bacon – will have you at bursting point. But all that eating, and drooling, will leave you thirsty, and you can’t have a burger without a craft beer or a milkshake. The Nutella, strawberry and salted caramel shakes will have every other burger joint in town shake-in in their boots. Keep an eye out for the ever-changing options on the specials board too – that Harry is a sneaky devil! OK, stop drooling and add Hello Harry to the top of your cheat meal list – don’t worry, your trainer will understand. You can find your new favourite fella at 39 Hercules Street, Hamilton, open 7 days 11:00am-9:00pm, for whenever that urge for a burger strikes. With burgers this good, there’s no goodbyes at Hello Harry’s, only see-you-soon’s. Words by Georgia Tyler
