Paddington’s Darling & Co lifts the bar on a new look

Paddington socialites rejoice! The month-long wait for the new-and-improved Darling & Co is finally over, and it’s back to wining, dining and cocktail sipping as usual. After their second stage renovations, this west side favourite has a whole new look, and is looking more chic than ever, with a scrumptious new Autumn menu adding to the reasons to head in and check it out. The venue’s main bar has been completely transformed, with architect Angus Munro from Marc & Co taking it from drab to fab in just a few short weeks. An elegant curved brick bar now links the bistro and casual drinking space, giving the venue a whole new focus, with warm timber, lush greenery and retro-inspired furnishings bringing the bar to life and providing the perfect backdrop to their creative eats and boutique drinks list. darlinga and co 2 Not to be outshone by the new décor, Head Chef Guilano has crafted all new seasonal menus to welcome in the cooler months, with a delicious selection of autumn inspired dishes to tempt you into staying to dine, whether you opt to linger over dinner in the bistro or breeze through a casual feed in the bar. Most of the bistro menu is available in the bar, along with some sophisticated bar bites and hearty pizzas, giving you the opportunity to choose your own adventure when it comes to eating out. Using plenty of local, sustainably sourced produce, the bistro menu features warming winter fare like butternut pumpkin gnocchi with goats curd, mascarpone and sage, and the signature 12 hour slow cooked lamb shoulder with seasonal roast vegetables to share. It’s not just dinner on the cards though, with fresh lunch specials on offer for locals which make use of seasonal produce, matched with a drink for just $16pp. darling and co 3 If you’re just after some bar bites to nibble on between sips of your cocktail, fresh eats like duck liver pate with sourdough and harissa kingfish tacos will fit the bill, with a hefty number of dairy free, gluten free and vegetarian offerings for those who are a little more picky. And for those for whom breakfast is the most important meal of the day, the weekly Sunday ‘Brunch Club’ starting on 24 April will cover all the bases, from all day breakfasts of buttermilk waffles and bacon sandwiches, all the way through to Bloody Mary and G&T stations. Because having juice with your brunch is so 2015. With its inner city location right next door to Suncorp stadium, Darling & Co is perfect for victory beers after the game, or just a relaxed night out. And don’t worry, there’s plenty of public transport around to ferry you home. Find the new and improved Darling & Co at 157 Given Terrace, Paddington, and never let them go again.
