One Spring Evening of fine food and wine

  • Food & Booze
What have you got planned for the evening of Saturday 17 September? Does it involve feasting on three courses of gourmet fare while you’re seated at a long table in a fairy-lit laneway, glass of Moet champagne in hand? Well it should – because that’s just what’s in store at the Regatta’s One Spring Evening, a dazzling event that will transform the historic hotel’s laneway into a dreamy garden party and the ultimate setting for a long table feast. Only 100 lucky guests will be treating to the decadent evening (so you better snap up tickets quick), the first of what will be an annual event to welcome spring back to the river city. With the Boatshed restaurant in charge of the three courses of gourmet fare, and a three hour premium beverage package to take advantage of, we can’t imagine greeting spring a better way. Even the menu will have you dreaming of spring flings, with entrees like coffin bay oysters and antipasto selections, and main options like chicken ballotine with crispy skin and grilled salmon with bean, parsley and olive salad. And for dessert? Sweeten things up with petite four cakes and tarts or get cheesy with triple cream brie and blue accompanied by truffled honey and crisp bread. While you’re wining and dining the night away under the stars in your brightest spring outfit, you’ll be serenaded into a food coma by live music. Just don’t be lulled too far into slumber – after dinner comes more drinks and entertainment in the Walrus Club, where you can jive the night away by candlelight! So ditch the Ugg boots and cosy sweaters for a night of drinks, food and good company that will get you well and truly in the mood for summer (and summer Sunday sessions in the Regatta’s courtyard, hint hint). Tickets are $120pp, and you can grab yours by calling the Regatta Hotel on (07) 3871 9595. Keep an eye on the event page for more details! Words by Samantha Chariton
