From banquets to Belvedere, pasta to picnics and cookie dough cupcakes to cocktails – it’s well and truly spring.

October is proving it’s got a whole lot in store for us!

1.Oktoberfest Brisbane | RNA Showgrounds

Australia’s largest German festival is back to say guten tag! Check your lederhosen and dirndl into the dry cleaners and brush up on your deutsch – Oktoberfest Brisbane is back for two huge weekends of Bavarian fun, food and brews. On Oktober 6-8 and 13-15 chow down on delicacies like pork knuckle and bratwurst and indulge in German beers and wines. See our guide for more information!

2. Spring onto King Street | Bowen Hills

Gather your posy and prepare for a blooming great evening on King Street as the dining precinct is transformed into Brisbane’s hottest springtime popup from Friday October 6th. From Asian bites to Italian delights, and all the share plates you can handle in between – Spring onto King Street will be a spring garden wonderland with three unique dining experiences.  For more information click here!

3. Date Night at Cloudland’s Italian Restaurant | Fortitude Valley

Mamma mia! Paying more than $50 for dinner? Spaghett-about it! Cloudland believes that school night dinners should be just as special as the weekend, and they’ve got a deal to gnocchi your socks off. Throughout spring Cloudland are offering special lunch and dinner deals, available Friday – Sunday for lunch and Tuesday – Sunday for dinner. For just $50 score a wood-fired pizza, a bowl of pasta and a bottle of wine.

4. Ciao Gelato | Cookie Dough Gelato Cupcakes | Nundah

Can’t choose between creamy gelato, chewy cookie dough or fluffy cupcakes? Sweat no longer my sweet-toothed friends, Ciao Gelato has the hybrid you’ve been waiting for in the form of their cookie dough cupcakes! Generous layers of cookie dough on top of a gelato base, sealed with white or dark chocolate are waiting for you in Nundah!

5. Byblos | Belvedere Garden | Hamilton

Fancy yourself a cocktail craftsman but never got the chance to show your skills? It’s your time to shine with the Belvedere Garden at Byblos popping up on Sundays. Put World Class contestants to shame as you create your own refreshing spring-inspired cocktails. Served in lush garden surroundings, pick from the fruit and herb gardens to perfect your signature cocktail.

6. Kennigo Social House | Spring Hill

We understand that finding the drive to be social can sometimes be a stretch when there’s air-con and Netflix at home, but it’s a lot easier when there’s the promise of food. Kennigo Social House is bringing home the bacon with its new seasonal menu featuring epic breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Think brekky bagels, brioche French toast and a new $30 two-course dinner menu, changing every week.

7. Reuben sandwich | Crafty Cuts | Wintergarden 

While we’re happy to jump onboard with any food trend and give it a taste, nothing beats a good, honest sanga. And the newly opened Crafty Cuts at Wintergarden has the goods. Our pick? A juicy reuben sandwich, packed with smoked brisket, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, pickles and mustard – it’s every little bit worth the food baby and required 3pm office snooze afterward.

8. Open Air Cinema | Salt Meats Cheese | South Bank Parklands

Dinner and a show? Embrace the balmy spring nights with Open Air Cinema! Running from October 6th, settle in for the evening with films like ‘Battle of the Sexes’, ‘Dunkirk’, and ‘Atomic Blonde.’ Not satisfied with handbag snacks? Salt Meats Cheese has you covered with Roman-inspired delight at their alfresco long-table dinner. Dine on three-course meals with wine pairings – the cinema has never been so tasteful!

9. Gourmet Picnics | Brisbane

The weather is heating up, it’s time to get outside and to the park: it’s picnic season. Whether you’re gathering the girls together, a family outing or a cute date with your latest squeeze – you can’t have it just anywhere. It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for, and our doctors have been praying against. Stock up on your cholesterol medication folks, food truck darlings Mac From Way Back have taken our mac ‘n’ cheese obsession to a new level and setting up a dedicated Mac ‘n’ Cheesery shopfront in the Valley this month.

It’s a lot to pack into one month, but we know you’re up for a challenge. So eat early, eat often and go forth into October!
