Things To Do In October

This month has us feeling more psyched than a kid on Christmas morning (which is just a singular sneeze away, mind you).

From boozy bubble tea at a brand new arcade bar and the sweetest candy museum to fluffy baklava waffles, October is going to need a few extra PT sessions after you’re done with this list.

B. Lucky & Sons | Fortitude Valley

You’ll be the luckiest lamb in the world after a trip to The Valley’s latest arcade hot-spot, B. Lucky & Sons. Play your cards right and you’ll be treated to alcoholic bubble tea, Mario Kart, and some of the best stone baked pizzas in town. Invade their space anytime, darl.

Hidden Lanes Festival | Fortitude Valley

Come out of hiding on Saturday, October 13 for a day in The Lanes. Weave your way through Winn Lane, Bakery Lane, and newbie California Lane over a day of art, music, shopping, food and more. That’s right up our alley.

Halloween Monster’s Ball | Victoria Park | Herston

For a killer night with your ghouls and guys, Victoria Park is the place to be. This year’s Halloween Monster’s ball falls on October 31, where you can indulge in blood Bellini’s, gourmet eats and snaps at the pop-up photo booth. Beat the fear of missing out and get tickets here.

Candy Museum | Sugar Republic | Fortitude Valley

Sugar, oh honey, honey. Sugar Republic is hitting Fortitude Valley Metro until the last week of October, where you’ll be getting balls deep in a huge grown up ball pit, swinging in a fairy floss room, jumping out of a giant birthday cake and immersing yourself in wonder-filled art installations. Sweet.

Gold School Sundays | Ol’ School | South Brisbane

All that glitters is Gold School Sundays. Launching mid-October, Ol’School’s new family friendly Sunday Sessions will include meal specials, drinks specials, hopscotch and marbles – because there’s no school like the old school. Keep an eye out for more details!

Tanqueray Terrace | Customs House | CBD

Out of the gym, into the gin – it’s Tanqueray Terrace season. Customs House’s spring pop-up bar is in full bloom with greenhouses, monstrously large glasses of gin cocktails, perfectly paired eats, and who could forget the stunning riverside views? I’m so there it’s insane.

Baklava waffles | Miss Jones | New Farm

Bak that snack up, Miss Jones, we’re totally here for your baklava waffles!! We’re talking Belgian waffles topped with cinnamon ice cream, pistachio crumble, smashed baklava and honey orange cream. We’re not drooling, you’re drooling.

The Terrace Rooftop Dining Bar | Emporium | South Bank

I’m, I’m sky high. Emporium’s new rooftop dining bar is set to open on October 3, serving a la carte and buffet brekkie from 6:30am, before transitioning to all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. Views from the six.

The Garden Pantry | West End

The grass is greener at The Garden Pantry – being home to Salt Meats Cheese, Mr. Bunz and Cheeky Poke Bar. Opening on October 11, go for the eats and stay for the view; this chic space dripping in flora is one to watch.

Oktoberfest | Brisbane Showgrounds

Raise your stein and prost to the best time of your life! Over the first two weekends of October, Brisbane’s beloved German celebration will come bounding over with all the pork knuckle, live music and bier you can handle.

Come at us, October.
