New Season, New Chef and New Summer Menu at Belvedere Bar and Grill

  • Food & Booze
New shoes, new café, new do – here at the G&G we can’t help but be drawn to new (preferably shiny) things. So our heart skipped a beat when we heard that Portside favourite Belvedere Bar and Grill recently launched a new menu following the appointment of new head chef, Anthony Gordon. With a CV boasting time in Daphne’s modern Italian restaurant in London and two Michelin-starred restaurant Midsummer House in Cambridge, Anthony takes a rounded, global approach to his cooking. He also did a stint alongside legendary chef Heston Blumenthal, but you won’t find any science experiments in his new Belvedere menu, rather fresh seasonal produce encompassing European techniques with an Aussie slant. Menu highlights include the roasted fillet of Atlantic salmon with broad beans, fennel salad and blood orange beurre blanc. with the pan seared duck breast with potato mousseline, poached plums and snow peas coming in a close second. Sweet tooths are in safe hands here with the vodka and buttermilk panna cotta with summer fruits and baby basil catching our wandering eye. And of course the menu still features an overwhelming variety of premium steak to which Belvedere Bar and Grill owe their name. Make yourself comfortable within their stunning Portside location and peruse the new menu at your leisure – the view is one thing that never gets old. Sam Geldard
