Match with the Scratch | Part II

Let’s take advantage of The Scratch’s BYO food offer with the perfect match. This week we have The Fishery’s grilled Cod, chips and salad paired up with Burleigh Brewery’s Hef German style Wheat Beer. In Hef’s words, it was distinctly wunderbar.   The Food After 20 years in the industry Murray Dalton, The Fishery’s owner and manager, has learnt a thing or two about Australian and New Zealand’s fish. He’s got that fish n’ chips shop formula juuuuuuust right. Generous servings, crispy chips, wide fish range and home made tomato, tartare, aioli and seafood. What to match? Steamed Cod (you can have battered or crumbed) was cooked to perfection, tender and not dried out. 16 Baroona Rd Milton | 07 3369 4707 | @FisheryBrisbane   The Beer The Scratch did well on this one. Burleigh Brewery’s Hef German Style Wheat Beer 5.0% ABV was a corker. With lashings of full flavour of banana and cloves, Hef was refreshing and surprisingly light on the pallet for a wheat beer. A bright white head gives off a cracking aroma before the silky smooth texture hits the mouth.   Why it matched? The soft clean flavours paired perfectly with the steamed fish, never over powering or dulling my pallet. Hef is great as a pre-meal beverage or with your favourite cheese as well.   Give it a go today and play Match with The Scratch. Thomas Mitchell
