Market stall of the week: Wholesomeness

You might have noticed that our philosophy is a little bit more ‘live to eat’ than ‘eat to live’, but that doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate good, wholesome food that makes us feel good long after the face stuffing is done. Enter Wholesomeness, the Eat Street Market’s healthiest food stall. Don’t mistake nutritious for tasteless here, because these guys have some pretty drool-worthy goods. What began as a personal catering service delivering nutritious, organic, pre-prepared meals to busy health nuts around Brisbane, stretched to a market stall several months ago and has been serving up power food to hungry market-goers ever since. They say you are what you eat and if that’s the case, we must be a big bowl of abundance, because their abundance bowls are always first up on our Eat Street list (before a deep-fried chocolate dessert usually, but let’s ignore that for the moment).  Their Baharat spiced chicken abundance bowl with creamy tahini dressing turns a pile of vegetables into scrumptious, healthful chow (no mean feat). Vegan abundance bowls swap out chicken for spicy tofu (it’s good, we promise) for a vegetarian version of the dish. We’re also a big fan of their grilled pork meatballs with spiced apple chutney served on a gluten-free ancient grains blend.  Great for sharing, if you can bear to part with any. Early riser? Head to Eat Street for brunch on their new Sunday trading hours, Acai bowls topped with the best granola in town will set the tone for an energetic day from a body zinging with delight.
