Market stall of the week: The Bone Lorry

You couldn’t confuse our fave Brisbane food truck this week with a spot for vegetarians. With a name like The Bone Lorry, these are definitely meals on wheels just for the carnivores out there. The Bone Lorry is Brisbane’s newest roaming food truck and is dishing up the street food of our dreams, all meat and sauce and not a clean face in sight. Their menu features nothing but slow cooked meat on the bone, whether it’s slow roasted pork belly, pulled beef or flame roasted chicken. All with hearty sides of course. Pork belly, crispy crackling, pink slaw and house-made apple ketchup make their way onto a soft brioche bun for a messy feast your hands won’t be able to resist wrapping themselves around. There’s also an incredible beef cheek (slow cooked of course) cheeseburger, finished off with Siracha and smoked paprika mayo, pink slaw and melted cheddar. Yep, this is what our dreams are made of. And for something a little left of plate, you can chow down on chargrilled lamb ribs with salad, cucumber, minted yoghurt, soused red onions and dukkah. For those of you who can’t wait for dinner and prefer to have your meat in the morning (sounds good to us!), The Bone Lorry also have a hearty breakfast menu. Protein packed, it will cure even the mightiest of hangers. We think the house-cured and slow roasted bacon ribs with Boston baked beans is worth hunting down the truck for all on its own, but the pork belly bacon bun, corned beef hash or chorizo and mushroom hash will leave you rolling in choices. The Bone Lorry makes regular appearances on the north side however they are known to beef up Thank Truck it’s Thursdays in South Brisbane from time to time.
